Fished my very first bass tournament this way in Feb, we were fishing Sutton lake here in South Eastern NC and its illegal to possess bass from Dec 1 to Mar 31 in this particular lake. We measured, weighed and took pics for the day and it was a good experience for me.

I went to go start my motor today and it would not fire. Last week I started it fine. The motor is a 97 force 40 hp. I noticed gas coming out from behind the prop on the lower unit. Could that be because its flooded. Not being mechanically enclined is this something I can trouble shoot my self? Any ideas?

I love my shimano crucial, I got a carrot stix for xmas but haven't had a chance to use it. I am really interested in the mojo bass rods though.

Not too sure on the clarksville side of the lake as I have only fished the NC side near henderson, but one thing to watch for before you leave and to plan carefully is the wind, ( given I know this can change from day to day) from March to early May it can make or break a trip. My wife and I took a weekend trip for our anniversary in late March early may and you couldn't hardly cast it was so windy much less put up a tent ;D. Just my .02 worth.

I used to use Carolina bone suckin sauce, but after a thread on here a few months back I tried Sweet Baby Ray's and it is awesome, not to mention about 1/4 of the price. The only thing I still prefer bone suckin sauce on is ribs.

Yeah they are having a great liquidation sale with items supposedly marked 30% off, only problem I have with that is that the %30 off comes after a %40 mark up. Probably another reason they are bankrupt.

I am interested in this thread as well, I am in the market for a new mattress and box spring myself. I have been looking/laying around on some lately and cant say that I have found any that fit the bill for me. Sorry I am no help though.

My buddy has a 18 ft Nitro that he has had for 10 years. According to him it still fishes as good now as it did then. He has taken care of it and if he sales it I hope I can buy it. They may not be a Triton or a Skeeter ( personally I thnk Rangers are a name and thats it) but it has lasted him.

We just got another 8" of snow this afternoon. It's dark now, kids are out of school on vacation with new sleds and junk. The neighborhood is lit up in white Xmas lights, main st looks like a postcard. After dinner, the golf courses and local hills will get crowded with kids wrapped in all kinds of winter gear......... sleds, toboggans, and cafeteria trays ready to go as soon as they finish building the ramp at the bottom. Moms with hot chocolate, skating on frozen ponds, fires in the snow to warm up by, building snowmen, snowball fights...........I could go on Right now, I'm sipping a hot chocolate with Rumple Minze and heavy whipped cream, getting ready to head out into the fun myself. My point is, we fish 8-9 months a yr and then have all this stuff too,....when do you guys get to go sledding?? Y'all think we have it bad but I honestly feel for anyone who misses out on days like this. I understand some people need warm weather for health reasons but geez,...if Muddy can handle it..... : Keep on catchin' em boys, I'm goin' sleddin' That I am jealous of, I would love for my kids to see some snow, we haven't had it here in a few years. :-/

Awesome , I havent been out since the Sunday before Xmas, we fished the neuse river here in NC. The smallest went about .5 pound and the largest somewhere between 3.5 and 4. Funny thing was that we fished from about 8 to 10 with no bites and it was like someone threw a switch. About 1030 to 1100 it was cast after cast 2.5 to 3 pd fish. All of these fish were fat like they just finished feeding. Just as quick as it turned on it started raining and the wind switched. After that we caught 3 more fish all under 1.5. Total we caught about 12 fish for a wonderful day. Here was the 2nd largest of the day, that my buddy Brian caught and a smaller one I hooked, forgive the beanie it was getting warm. Sorry for the quality of the pics, they were taken with my cell. I really enjoy your posts, it reminds me why I do fish.

I agree with the Buggs Island, except here in NC we call it Kerr Lake. You can catch plenty of bass plus stripers ( they naturally spawn in the lake ) also you can fish Lake Gaston which is just a few minutes driving from Kerr. Both of these lakes have plenty of bass.

I appreciate both of your replies and I will try and stick with the KISS method ( keep it simple stupid ). I think I have some paca craws that I bought earlier in the year. Hopefully by next years end I will have them figured out.

So I have decided this next year to really concentrate on jig fishing. The question that I have is what size jig ( weight wise ) should I start with. I am going to base colors about the same as I do with soft plastics. Also what trailers would one suggest to use for someone who has no experience fishing jigs? Thanks in advance Jeremy
