Mustad Straight Shank Denny Brauer Flipping Hook up to the size of a 6" Senko at which time I switch to a Strike King Saber Point Round Bend Offset.

I am currently using the eagle claw lazer sharp wide gap worm hook in 3/0 size. I have heard mixed reviews on these and was thinking about switching to something else. I really like the size of this hook, it is a good match for most of the plastics I use. However, I don't think they are all that sharp and they certainly get dull after some use. What should I try?

I have been using Owner hooks just about exclusivelyBut, I do like Gamakatsu in certain styles also. I do not like the standard Gamakatsu EWG,too much flex for my taste, stick with the Superlines. What I do like from Gamakatsu are the G-Lock's.

As far as my standard worm hook,I use the Owner J,and for  the Tubes where I need that extra room, I go to the Owner Wide Gap Plus. Also check out the Owner Ultra Heads, love them!

What should I try?

Lunker City Texposer's. Great hooks for the money.

Try one, you'll like it!

Owner EWG ultra point. I like thembecause the hook point has a flat top. I use sizes 1/0 through 3/0.

If I'm flipping, I have a Brute Tru-Turn tied on. With other plastics, I'm using TT and EWGs. I don't mind taking the time to keep them sharp since the TTs aren't a "high-tech" point.

Old school Tru Turns....yeah you can watch them rust and you occasionally have to dress the points up but they are some fish stickin' mutha's.....and they're cheap. I wish I had a dollar for every fish I've caught on these things over the last twenty years ;)

I've never had a problem with eagle claw hooks and I mostly use straight shank worm hooks unless its a thick plastic like a stickbait or a tube then I'll use EWG
