Is that the body of water off of Kendrick Ave, I think it is? Kinda of behind an office park? I may be thinking of something different.

Its on 135 going to needham center, a mile or so past dedham medical. It's a really small pond but it's shore friendly and it's got fish it there.

If you get off 95 at exit 17 go left, go down the road about a mile. You'll go over the Charles river (I assume it's the Charles just a small little river) and immediately past the Charles is a set of lights. Go through the lights and it's right there on the right. If you see public works/gov cars there it's the right place.

I wouldn't go out of my way to go there but if you're in the area it's worth a stop. I have most luck by the pads on the left side of the pond. I think they stock it with trout too

Do any Eastern Mass guys fish Borderland Park in Easton/Sharon? Or Ames Pond in Easton/Stoughton? I grew up in that area and fished both places a lot in the 70's and 80's. I caught my PB at Borderland, just under 10 lbs. Just wondering if these places were still productive. There were 2 small ponds at Borderland that were hard to get at until  early August that produced good numbers and size of bass

I live 1 Town over and have not hit Borderland Park, I'll have to check that out. There was a guy on this thread who lives in the Easton area, maybe he can chime in. I don't believe he's been logged in much though.

 

Ames is usually choked pretty good by mid summer. I don't go there much anymore. I know some folks used to pull some real nice ones out of ther though.

Ames gets pretty bad with weeds, fished there a few times. All I've ever gotten there is pickerel. I would like to take my kayak out there

I've been to BHR twice in the last few days and have had a 180 turnaround. Caught a six pack overall, 2 good, 2 OK, and 2 dinks. I might suggest the cool evenings are telling the bass to get ready for Winter.

All were caught on T-rigged worm / Senko.

I had a pretty good weekend. I caught 14 lmb altogether with a 3 lb and a nice 4 lb last night to cap off the weeekend. I tried a bunch of new baits. Got a huge blow up on a frog but it was a miss.I love bass fishing.

Hey I have a question do I have to have mono on for a backing to braid or can I just put it right on to the reel?

Not always, I have tied direct to the spool with a Arbor knot with no problems. The first time I loaded braid i did use a mono backer tied with a double uni knot.

I had a pretty good week so far I've caught 2 4 lb and 2 3lb and a bunch of smaller ones. But I'd like to ask Brian a question I think I've seen a picture of you in an inflatable boat. I'm getting one tomorrow could you give me any advice about them? I've never fished from a boat at all so anything would help. Thanks oh and I got my first frog fish it was awesome.

Grabbed a decent bass at BHR last night, between 1-2 pounds, on my 'regular' T-rigged gourd-green super salt.  Senkos were quiet.

Nice FATTY!

Took the 'yak to Wampatuk State park mid morning through early afternoon.  Zilch, not so much as a strike.  I used mostly T-Rigged Zoom and weightless Senko, but still couldn't buy a bite.

 

Talked with a couple other guys fishing there said they'd had a tough day too, but have had great success there at different times of the year, using different baits.  I followed their advice for an hour after our conversation, without success.  I'll have to go back again when I can get there earlier or later in the day.

Had an awesome night I was going to Dick's to get some line so I stopped at my doctors office cuz I knew there was some water behind it. It's the charles river and on my first cast to under this old bridge bang fish bites I set the hook and reel in a fat 3 lbs lmb. Then another one and then a big one that jumped and spit the hook. Glad I stopped and found a new spot. My first fish out of something besides little ponds.

     Has anyone been to Mashpee-Wakepee lately? If so, how is the bite?  I know that lake gets hit pretty hard, and I have a tournament there in a week. What have they been hitting? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Got home from apple picking late Sunday afternoon and the bosses (wife/daughter) were beat so I got out to Blue Hills Reservoir (BHR) for an hour or so.  I decided to try a chatter-bait on the advice from another fisherman at Wampatuck Reservoir, and sure enough, just as it was getting dark I landed the biggest LMB I've caught to date at BHR.  I'd just switched to a black/blue chatter-bait from a white/chartreuse one.  It was north of 3 pounds for sure, and had much scar tissue and tears around its mouth, telling that he'd been caught many times before.

 

Now I have a new addiction, I got up before dawn and went back to BHR to try again.  Bagged a good one, probably 2 pounds or so, on the white/chartreuse chatterbait I'd struck out on earlier in the week.

 

Hopefully Fall fishing will be good - I've got the feeling it will be.

today I tried a chatterbait again and had some awesome action I went after work at 7am this morning first cast one smashes the bait. It was so much fun 3 fish in 15 mins I've never had a bait work that good. Thanks for tthe tips guys.

My brother and I were banging out the LMB from Nutting's Lake in Billerica, MA, specifically the side which boarders Route 3.

 

The bite got really good right in the middle of the lake right about 6:30pm (black/white spinner bait and a green swim jog with green single tail grub), but alas the fish police paid us a visit because we were without our lights.   I didn't even realize that was an issue for a 10ft plastic boat, but the guy was cool about it and only issued us a warning as well as provided some additional information that was helpful.  Looks like a trip to Bass Pro is in order so we can keep on the lake when the sun goes down.

Got over to BHR a couple more times in between jobs and can say someone put the big fish back when I wasn't looking.  I've had pretty poor luck there from August '13 to August '14.  But that's changed the last couple of weeks, especially  the other morning, after work, I nabbed what might have been a PB with a chartreuse & white chatter bait.  As luck would have it, however, I lost just enough grip while I was reaching for my phone to snap a picture, and dropped it (fish, not phone).  The poor thing bounced off the rock shore once and into the water.  If anyone catches a 4 +/- pound LM there that's wearing a circular growth/scar behind each gill, that's it.

 

I finished tomorrow's job today, so I'm heading to Wampatuck State Park tomorrow with a goal of bagging at least a couple of  good fish.
