Kinami vs. Yamamoto

Featured Replies

I honestly have noticed NO difference in the two. The Flash and the Senko catch the same amount of fish in the same situations.

Same deal with the Palm tree and the Ika.

What's the difference? Oh, BTW, the price difference is VERY little.

Kinami is owned by yamamoto's son. All the products from both brands are out of the same molds.

Let me rephrase that, probably out of the same molds with little variation.

The price per unit is the same. The fact that

these brands are identical has been confirmed

by company representatives.

Merry Christmas!

As already stated, one and the same. I've even seen the salt content and sink rate analysis' to confirm. Just different names and price points to compete in different markets.

I've had equal success with both..  they are the same thing..

The only different between the two is color availability.

I don't know how true this is or where I heard it from, but I was told that Gary Yamamoto will not sell his baits at very large stores like Walmart.  Since he doesn't sell his baits at stores like Walmart, the Kinami line was introduced, which is sold at Walmart.

Again, I don't know how true this is, but it kind of makes sense.

Kinami is owned by yamamoto's son. All the products from both brands are out of the same molds.

Lol, you mean Gary's son. both are Yamamoto's

Kinami Palm Tree vs Yamamoto Fat Ika. Ika costs a little more BUT you get more per pkg. Ika's also have a little better color selection.

Same thing...One just comes with less in the package pretty sure.

Simple, Kinami = Yamamoto

This thread appears about every 4 months here...over and over.  If you look at the Senko thread (listed in the "Best of" sticky), you'll see it's in there.  It really helps to look at the "Best of" thread, as well as FAQ's.  You'll get your answers so much faster that way.

Anyway, the answer hasn't changed - they're the same.  The only differences are the packaging, and how many come in a package.

The End.
