What are you guys going to throw in the next couple of months?

Featured Replies

As we slowly edge towards spring, what will you guys start throwing?

Red Craw Lipless Cranks are huge in mid-late Feb. for me, then I will move to c-rigs and jigs, spinnerbaits, etc.

Last season was my 'learn jigs' season. This year it's cranks. I also got a couple packs of Evolution jigs to try a little shakey head action. Got some Venom 4" ringworms that look real nice on them there jigs.....

Jig/pork, chigger craws, drop shot w/various plastics, shad raps and Rapala DT Flat.

Snowballs.

We will be playing with tipups and jigging poles up here for a while, until ice-out. Luckily I will make it down south later in the month where I plan to throw some lipless cranks, frogs, swimbaits, and heavy flipping/pitching.

I use a 1/8th oz. jig with a smoke/fleck, or pumpkinseed grub trailer combo. The slow fall and translucent lure seems to work well.

Well, hopefully we'll have a warming trend and ice out on the river by the end of this month. Then we'll start tossing tubes, blades and hard jerks for smallies. And, hopefully by the middle or end of March, the lakes will free up from their frozen grip. Then the fun really begins! Been a very long winter.  >;)

it depends on a lot of things but I'm hoping to throw more crankbaits.

Snowballs.

buzzbaits, homemade topwater plugs, topwater frogs, jitterbugs, maybe some jigs, maybe some plastics

Right now, I agree with the snowballs.

In about six weeks, when the ice melts, I'll start with spinnerbaits, shallow crankbaits, lipless crankbaits, and hard jerkbaits.
