If Yamamoto discountinued the 031 (Blue Pearl) color in Senko's and Flat tails I'd be in BIG trouble!! The 031 color is the closest color to mimic teh color of baitfish. Silverish with silver flakes. Awesome color for spots.

I have stayed with the green pumpkin, watermelon, and junebug colors for all my plastics and they seem to produce good.

some belive A 6 inch worm can immatate a minnow. However for me no matter what the color is a worm immitates a worm nothing ealse.

This seems logical, but think about it.  Worms live in soil.  How many real worms do you think the average bass might see in his lifetime? one, two??

Not to mention that there are no junebug, or chartruese, or baby bass etc. colored worms.  Because they can be so frustrating to try and catch, we can overestimate the intellegence of the LMB>  It's a fish with a brain the size of a grain of rice.  It's not looking at a squirmy thing in the water and deciding what it is.  

I used to carry every color under the sun for all my soft plastics, now this is all I carry in every most style including senko type baits. I do have a few exceptions, but my basic colors are.

Watermelon/red flake

june bug

green pumpkin

red shad

smoke/ red and black flake

baby bass

pumpkinseed

A red and black senko is the type that works for me.

Cream White, Watermelon Black Flake, Black/Red Shad, Watermelon White laminate, green pumpkin, brown pumpkin. Plain black too.

I was a fluke/super fluke man until I was introduced to the sinking stick-type(senko) bait years ago on Lake fork Texas. They have been a favorite every since. I fish them in all colors and types of water, using just about every color imaginable. There is only two that I wouldn't be without. the first you can get at Bass Pro Shop.; 5" stiko - Texas smoke. The second is; 5" YUM dinger Ozark smoke. They work everywhere theres bass, and produce lot's of Big 'uns.

The most recent is this ol gal from Lake Toho, FL.

My most productive day was with the smoke color Senko

Any of you folks tried the Hot Tip colors?  Northern Bass has the seconds for 5.19 a bag I was gonna pick up a couple of bags. What makes a Senko a second?inconsistant weight,they look the same in the bag.

although i haven't used them too too much i have to say dark colors have produced the best for me.

tiki stick colors- christmas tree....maybe.....it's greenish black w/ green and red glitter; and black w/ blue glitter

301 is a great bluegill immitator.  other than that i use other pumpkinseed and watermelons and junebug as well as the plum with red flake.

yes, I have used several different brands in the smokes and light, clearish colors, with good success.

and another dozen colors never seen in a rainbow. It should be abundantly clear by now

that bass do not have favorite colors, that only "fishermen" have favorite colors.

In real-time, the best color is the most visible color for current conditions, whatever color that may be.

Unhappily, the best colors to use are constantly changing with current lighting conditions,

and sometimes during the same retrieve as the lure passes through sun and shade.

Fantasy is fun, but reality is so much more fulfilling

Roger, I know you've stated this before and I agree.  With any lure, you have two main choices, something dark colored and something light colored.  What variations in dark and light you choose is up to you.  Choose whatever gives you confidence, but in reality it probably doesn't matter as much to the bass as it does to us.  

My top 3 are:

1) Purple Pearl w/Blue flake (#234) Great color for night fishing.

2) Watermelon w/Black flake (#194)

3) Blue Pearl w/Silver flake (#031)

Add a shade of brown in there and I'm pretty much covered. Dark Pumpkin w/Black flake (#286) works well.

I use the same that has been mentioned, adding

Clear water: Pumkin ( Orange) w/ black and green, 196

Murky water: Bubblegum, 229

Watermelon/Red and Green is the color I fish about 90% of the time.

Theres nothing like getting a bite on a senko

I was surprised to see none of you guys use the purple with blue flake senko it works great for me. if you are looking for a new color senko and your others arent working try out a purple I've always had sucess with it...

just plain watermelon

Only need 1 color Green Pumpkin w/ black flake! #297 I think. Doesn't matter sun, cloud, clear, or stained, its the wiggle that gets 'em.
