Favorite Senko Colors

Featured Replies

#912 (watermelon/green pumpkin laminate) is by far my favorite color. Seems to work well pretty much all the time.

  • My absolute favorite color of Senko is Black with Blue glitter. There are others that I will use if my favorite isn't producing that day, but overall Black with Blue glitter takes the cake for me.

  • Never found a color that didn't work as well as every other color I threw.

  • The local club "classic" last fall was won with a yellow senko with red and green glitter, the only senko to catch anithing that day.

"some belive A 6 inch worm can immatate a minnow. However for me no matter what the color is a worm immitates a worm nothing ealse."

A senko mimics a dying baitfish.  Strait tail worms mimic minnows too.  Look at drop shot worms.

I dont think color really matters for senkos all that much. Its the action that it has that drives a bass to ****** it.  I was a at BPS today and they had a demonstration. The ladie threw out a white/silver senko and almost every bas in the tank struck it. And shad color worms normally dont work that well.

My favorite senko's are #1 smoke/purple flake, and #2 watermelon/red,and black flake

Am I the only guy here who buys a worm that looks most like a "worm"? Haha, brown cinnamon, theres no other senko color that imitates a "worm" quite like the brown cinnamon color. Try it.

good ol #194 is my go to color.

I have had success with Blue Pearl w/lg Silver (031), Blue & Black laminate (904), Red Shad laminate (900) but my favorite is Watermelon/Cream laminate (901). ;D

my top three [yum dinger] colors are:

-junebug

-smoke pearl laminate

-ozark smoke

Where the hell did this come from?!  Well...I guess I didn't ever reply, so...

Watermelon Cream...kills in any condition or clarity!

Green Pumpkin/Chartreuse tip is awesome in stained water.

Watermelon/black flake or Green pumpkin/black flake when you want to go natural.

My lucky color is the smoke/pearl laminate with purple flake.  I really wish they would make it in the 6 inch size.  (or anyone really)

The 6 inch black w/ blue flake has caught a LOT of fish for me too.

For Senkos and Trick Sticks these are my biggest producers.

Senkos: Black/Blue flake, watermeleon black flake, watermelon/white laminate

***: 1) Watermelon Purple Swirl, black blue swirl, watermelon gold flake (my wifes biggest producer).

Wave Worm Tiki Sticks: Black/white laminate

Best color is like asking what's your favorite brand boat or do you prefer Chevy or Ford.  What works for one person or one situation may or maynot work for someone else.  I've seen one angler outfish the other angler with the same color plastic.  The old saying, "it's all how you wiggle your worm" is very true.

I introduced a friend of mine to spot removers with Tiki sticks one day.  He ran out of a color and switched to a bright (very bright) almost neon green colored Tiki stick.  We were fishing fairly clear water.  I laughed and said, "well they'll see it that's for sure".  Guess what, he outfished me using that bright colored worm in clear water.  It looked about as natrual as an orange hunting vest in a pile of snow.  It went against the rule of "natural colors in clear water".  He caught a few more than me on that worm.

So, experiment with differnent colors based on forage, clarity, and what the fish are used to seeing.  Sometimes they'll bite something that they haven't seen before.  What works on one spot in the lake, may not work on the rest of the lake.  Same goes for one lake to the other.

For BPS Stik-o I like:

watermelon w/ gold flake

junebug

watermelon

For Zoom Z-nails I like:

Watermelon Candy

Watermelon w/ black flake.

I have recently been using a really interesting senko color with good success. Black with chartreuse flakes. Keep it on the D/L  :-X

Pumpin Pepper Dingers work like gangbusters for me!

Pick a color, any color,...the bass really don't care.  It's the wiggle they are attracted to.

How on Earth did a senko color thread get to be 8 pages???? WOW
