I have mostly shimanos and lews about a 50/50 split. I love the shimano citica/curado e's but since they discontinued them I have been switching over to the lews tourny pros and abu stx' reels.

Shimano here. Most of my personal experience is with Daiwa and, of course, Shimano. After owning numerous high end reels from both companies I decided I liked Shimano the best, I just simply enjoy fis

  • Lews has made a big splash in the past couple of years. If the reels hold up, they are certainly a contender. It reminds me a lot of the Revo introduction which brought Abu Garcia into the new mille

Daiwa, though I have other brands as well.

I fish the Shimano curados from the old "mean green reel" up through the E series. The new G series curados seem to be a down grade. I picked up another E series on clearance from Gander Mnt that I will keep for future use.  Might look into Lews when it's time for a new purchase.

I've seen this movie before. Its Shimano, followed close by Lews, then Abu behind them.

Can't take it don't dish it. ncbassfisher, since you asked for SHIMANO, your best choice would be the CiticaG6.

Suprised nobody has given any votes to Pinnacle. They seem to be good reels now that they redid the entire line up couple years ago. I do like their rods. I personally voted Okuma. I will buy my first and probably only Curado this thursday at reel trade in.

We shall see where things go from there.

I have a Pinnacle spinning reel that I like a lot.

I won't cast a vote for any one reel brand. There are many many many quality reels, casting and spinning and they would all perform well. It's personal preference. I respect anyone's selection in what they purchase and use. Just fish it.

No votes for Megabass? Where is RedlineRobert?!!!

Abu and Shimano. I vited Abu because they fit my hand better and they are prettier

I voted Shimano, always used them since I first starting fishing as a kid (9).  Of course I own other reels - BPS, Quantum and Abu Garcia, but I always put a Shimano on my favorite rods and can't seem to put them down.

I voted for shimano for bait casters but my best spinning reels are diawa.

Odd, id go the flip route
