How many of you actually use the Lazer Trokar hooks on a regular basis?  They're way too expensive in my opinion.  10 bucks for 4-6 hooks? :-?  Nope.

I've gotten 18 or so packs from various events, fundraisers, and raffles.  I love them, to be honest.  If I could justify it it, that's all I'd be using.

I got a pack of the flippin hooks for my birthday, and i really liked them. I just wont be using my own hard earned money on them unless they come down in price anytime soon.

They must hook the fish for you??

There have been several negative reports on them involving breakage and the points not staying sharp on another forum. I will stay with Owner.

some very good tournament anglers and friends of mine have unanimously complained that the points bend ridiculously easy.  For the price, they should be able to hook a blue whale.

I was given a pack of the flippin hooks when they first came out.

I gave them a try.......broke two of them on hooksets. Break occurred just below the eye on the shank.

I'll stay with BMF and Gammy.

Wow, haven't had a problem with breakage at all, haven't had a problem with dulling either.  You guys are making me skeptical of continuing to use the ones I've got.

I am no metal expert but I could tell you any metal that doesnt bend, and they claim the hooks wont, will break. Every hook I have ever broken has been one that did not bend any usually treble hooks. I would prefer a hook that would flex a little over breaking.

They're actually really easy to sharpen.  The flats are so large that a small mill file or diamond file sits on them nicely.

from what i understand, the flipping hooks did have issues at the beginning of production, but those issues have been addressed and there are no longer any breakage issues.

I will never buy them because the are out of my price range.  However, if i could afford them, I would probably try a few simply for the confidence of knowing that I have the sharpest product made, and if any hook can penetrate the mouth of that monster bass, the Trokar can.

I am using some woom hooks now. They do work really well. I've had no issues with them so far. But, I have not had one tied on long enough to say much about durability. My invisX has broke or knot untied (knot twice) and cost me 3 of those along with my tru-tungston weights before I could use one for long... >

No thanks.  Not at that price.  I'll stick to Gammy's or Owners, thanks.

If it ain't broke don't fix it and my Owner's aren't broke so I am sticking with them.

As it is now, I stick myself nearly every time I reach for a Gamee or Owner hook.

with Gamakatsu or Owner for "bass" fishing?

These hooks are strong and sharp...or at least

strong and sharp enough!

The "point" is (pun intended), save money on

other fishing tackle. Buy quality hooks, the cost

is totally justified.

I bought some samples from an Eagle Claw rep and they look good. They are supposed to drop in price after they get some feedback. Owner/Gami has won my money nothing wrong with splurging now and then.

Broke two Trokar's tonight.  First time I'd used the EWG's.  Two hooksets, two broken hooks. 

That said, I caught 5 fish on a standard offset Trokar.

Dunno what to think now.

Has anybody tried using shrink tubing to make their own plastic keeper, similar to those on the Trokar flipping hooks?
