Just wondering if any of you guys use these hooks and what do you think of them, based on price to performance and quality.

Where do they rank TO YOU, compared to Gamakatsu, or even BPS hooks. Welcome opinions or facts.

I got my Trokars for free by signing up on their website, and IMO<--------the recreational fisherman like me is fine with Gamakatsus. Tournament guys I'm sure  want every edge they can get, and probably don't mind paying a little more for Trokars. The Trokars are super nice, and you can definitely tell they are step up in quality compared to Gammys, but I'm just not losing a ton of fish to where I feel the Gamakatsus aren't adequate or good enough to keep using. I've caught 3 on the Trokars, and all 3 times the hook pierced through the lip and through the fish's head, or through the lip once, then hooked back through again. I've NEVER had a Gamakatsu or other hook do that. For MY money, I'll stick with the cheaper hooks though.

They are extremely sharp and stick fish very easily, but they cost way too much for me to afford them for fun fishing, even after they dropped the price $3 a pack. 

Go try them!! They are by far the sharpest hook on the market.

Hmmmm....I've used them and see no real advantage over the Gamakatsus. My Gammys are "sticky sharp" too. For the price, I'll stick with those.

Give them a try, Trokars are great hooks! 

 

I don't think you will give up your Gammies or Owner hooks, but the Trokar are outstanding.

Another hook I really like, but never really took off, is the Diiachi XPoint. This is my favorite!

I use them 100% of the time.  I bought a ton of them on buy one get one free deals or on clearance at Academy.  I do not lose fish once hooked.  They are super sharp.  Best thing is that they are MADE IN THE USA!

I am a big fan of trokars as well.  I use them as often as i can but in a pinch i will by a gammy.  No place locally has a good selection of trokars so i am usually relegated to ordering online when it is time to restock.

 

The only disadvantage to the trokar is that since they have as much of an edge as a sticky point is that they tear up plastics more frequesntly and they really can't be resharpened.

 

I'll take those disadvantages for the better hook up percentage.  I would like to swap out my trebles to them but they are to pricey for my blood....

I only use them in tournaments. Pleasure fishing I still use gammy hooks.

I love Trokars. But I am a little bit weird as I believe fishing is a confidence thing as much as anything else that we do. I also wear a collard shirt and slacks to play golf in. Not because it makes me a better golfer, but it makes me a more confident golfer. I want to have confdence in whatever it is I am doing and I believe that Trokar hooks give me that extra confidence.

 

Silly as it may sound, that is how I approach things.

99% of the time Trokar is the only hook I use.  That other 1% is when I use the Gammy skip gap hook, have not found a better soft jerkbait hook than that.

Walmarts around here have them. After all the hype i decided to try the flippin style one with the keeper. I was not impressed at all! I had one break (not bend but break) while trying to pull a snag loose on 50lb braid. I will stick to my Gammys that i have been using for many yrs!

I tried them during the free offer deal.   I have come to like and trust them.

 

I do use Owner , VMC and Gamakatsu as well, but the Trokar hook has a slightly different shape, length and size which does fit certain baits just the way I prefer.

 

The Trokar hook models I've used have been and stay sharp and I have not had any problems with the hook failing in any way, shape or form.

Well it's a good thing i don't use those than huh. I use the Paycheck Baits straight shank, perfect! But i wud rather have a weak bait keeper than a broken hook or lost trophy any day.....

Its so bad that its unusable. There are two straight shank flipping/punching hooks that I will use and they are the Paychecks and the Trokars. The Gammy bait collar literally just slides up and down the shank, being completely useless

I think i know which ones u are referring too. They have a metal keeper wrapped on by what appears to b electric tape. i am pretty sure it is the exact same hook they make for Bub and PC baits but with a crappy keeper.

yup. same one. The hook itself is great, its the keeper which they put on there which makes it completely useless
