I currently use frog-togs and u still get wet on a rainy day. What is the best over all kind light weight and breathable

I prefer my couch when its raining but I have nothing bad to say about my BPS rain gear

If you hunt I would find one thats dual purpose. Who cares if youre wearing camo. If you got the $$ look at the sitka downpour series.

I found the BPS 100MPH suit to be the best...expensive but the best. Frog Toggs also have a premium suit that is a bit lighter weight but a great buy. I have one and like it as well as my 100MPH suit, even better in warmer weather

I like my uninsulated Guide Wear for cooler weather and Frogg Toggs for late spring/summer fishing.  If you are bank bound, hiking around pond banks, through weeds and cockleburs and such, Frogg Toggs are NOT for you.            p

I have a set of Dryhide/StormHide that is uninsolated for warmer days and they are very good and were reasonable. I found some Cabelas Guidewear last September and got both bibs and parka for under two hundred bucks. I really like them and you will stay DRY. My buddy just got some Simms and it's incredible but very expensive. Being in Washington you never have to wear the stuff. It never rains here.

Not sure how good it is but just picked up the BassPro Pro Qualifier Gortex rain jacket, its looks to be almost as good as the 100mph rain jacket. Its on sale for $149.97. It seems like a nice heavy duty jacket but light enough to fish in spring or summer time. I really like the cuffs around the wrist too.

All of them have worked flawlessly, even in monsoons.

Army issue gortex for me. 

Field and Stream from Dick's Sporting Goods when it's on sale for 75 bucks.  Bought a set in 2008 and it's still going strong.  My only gripe is that it isn't a bib overalls style on the pants.  They tend to creep down when you sit, and your butt will get wet.  Suspenders would help to prevent that.

 

They are comfortable, dry, and lightweight.  Get 'em oversize and wear extra layers in cool/cold weather.  They are comfortable on hot days. 

 

The legs are zippered at the bottom, so you can put 'em on or take 'em off even if you are wearing hip boots.  Zipper plus snaps on the front, and elastic cuffs on the sleeves.

 

In the photo below, I am wearing my pfd beneath the jacket.  Don't have the snaps fastened on the jacket.

 

I have a $30 coleman rain suit I got from wally world. Works great for me.

According to the manager at my bps, the main difference between the pro qualifier and the 100mph jacket is the 100mph supposedly is insulated with thinsulate. I couldn't find this stated anywhere else though. Nor did he know the rating.

I wear the same stuff as a I do backpacking and camping. An arcteryx gore paclite/xcr jacket and cheap rain pants. Rain pants to me are semi disposable and seem to get trashed more frequently than jackets so I get whatever waterproof breathable ones are on sale when I need them.

H2O Xpress Parka and bibs have been great for me.  I know they have kept me warm and dry, they seem to breath pretty well so I'm sure burning up in them won't be a problem.  

been using a 40 dollar frog toggs suit for 3 years now and it works fine for me.
