It must be true cause it's on the internet. . . . 

 

At this point I don't trust too many internet video's/gifs. Too easy to manipulate things now. Doesn't help that it's a gif, meaning he could have removed the slides showing the line pulling the bass to him. . . . if that's what he did. I don't buy it either way.

It would make more sense if you could see it in reverse.

It probably was filmed with him releasing it and then reversed, good thinkn!
