I have a Pizza hut and a Caseys within a mile of my house, other than that i have to drive 30 minutes and still cant find a decent pizza place .

Anyone know of a good pizza place in KC?

We have a local place that cooks all their pizzas in a wood fired oven, at temps of 750*, awesome taste. On top of that, he uses the best toppings, marinated steak with chunky mushrooms, carmelized onions and peppers for a steak and cheese pizza, marinated chicken with a buffalo sauce and blue cheese on top. This place is the best pizza I have ever had in all of my travels, and the price is the same as a chain place,it's a no brainer to go there, and on a Fri or Sat night, he's absolutely packed. On a related note, when I go to Florida, it is the toughest place to find a good pie, it seems they dont exist down there.

Brooklyn pizza here in Jax has the best in town, ny style. Everyone sweats Al's around here, dont buy into the hype....we like our ledo's cuz the don't cut corners, topped with salami, and the pizza oven in our home town of prince Frederick have some good square thin crust..... But my favorite was this joint couple block up from the Hilton in NYC they did a traditional hand tossed with the slices of mozzarella and fresh basil. Usually it is plain, and another with one of the folowing toppings, mushroom( my 6 & 4 yr old sons like this weird I know), bacon or sausage.

Pizza is like sex. Even when its bad, its still pretty good.

The best pizza's I ever had was Uncle Tony's in Batavia back when he was on East Main Street.   This was 15+ years ago.   Nothing compared.  I am not even sure they do pizza anymore, last I knew it was turned into a bar/restaurant and moved locations.

 

Next best was Nino's in Attica.  We even lived in the second floor apartment next door right after my wife and I were married.  That only lasted a month, we had to get out of there!   lol

Rosangela's in Evergreen Park, IL. Grew up a few blocks away. The best pizza around. The Rosie's special, sausage, onion, and green pepper is my absolute favorite. I have to stop there whenever I am in town. Nothing here in Indiana even comes close!

locally, papa johns hawaiian bbq is awesome. something about that sauce and pineapples is just amazing. yum

No fruit on pizza. Yes ive tried it, doesn't belong.

i usually dont like it either, but my wife convinced me to try it and im glad i did.

For thin crust, If you ever get to the north burbs try Riggio's in Niles or west burbs Giochinos in Bellwood Giochinos also has one of the best Italian beef sandwiches as well as Italian sausage sandwiches I've ever had

Just had some thin crust with sausage, bacon, green pepper, and onion. Tree Guys pizza. Good stuff

Italian beef sandwiches are awesome. If you guys ever go to philly be sure to check out tony lukes roast pork sandwich....they make good cheesesteaks but their pork sandwich is incredible.

There is a restaurant down the road from my house called Cafe sicilia. Nothing like your regular delivery. Cooked in a brick oven and tastes I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E! I get pepperoni, real italian sausage sliced fresh in thick chunks and olives. Matter of fact, Im ordering one RIGHT NOW!

Thin or pan. I don't care for deep dish. Sausage, onions, peppers, pepperoni, bacon pile it all on. I can eat a large deluxe all by myself without guilt.

I've got to go back into the pages of history.  This place is no longer in existence.  But in the day, it had the best pizza, thin crispy and outstanding flavor. 

 

Our favorite combination was bacon and linguica.   Most of you won't know what linguica is since it seems to be readily available only in this neck of the woods.  It's a Portuguese sausage.  Some compare it to pepperoni, but pepperoni cannot hold a candle to linguica.  Chourico is also similar, but still not as good as linguica.  In any case, bacon and linguica is a killer combination on pizza.

My favorite pizza was Sam's in Belvidere, IL. No, not the chain Sam's pizza. It was a small local joint run by a father (Sam) and daughter (Josi) that were straight out of Sicily. My father. my brother, myself and 3 of my cousins all delivered for them, so they knew us by name when we came in or called a pizza in. We were all convinced that Sam was "connected". He was a no nonsense old man who never had the sense to know when to stop working. he worked harder than any number of younger people even when he was 60-70 years old. One time, I had a different job installing internet and I had to go up on the roof of the building. It was perhaps 3 stories up and I had to access via ladder. Sam came up because he wanted me to toss some stuff off there (an old TV antenna). When I was a kid, my dad would bring me in when he would pick up the pizza and Josi would feed me raw dough (I love it AND I love bread. I can eat loaves of plain bread in a sitting). Every takeout pizza I get gets compared to Sam's. They all fail miserably in comparison.

Ha !  I haven't told most of you this, but after having worked around pizza for 16 years, quitting eating that cr@p was the easiest change in my diet I've ever made !

I was SOOO sick of pizza, I only ate it because it was convenient, and free !

 

I am SO glad I'll never have to choke down all that worthless saturated fat and carbs ever again LOL Pizza doesn't even look like "food" to me anymore. I might as well be cutting lumber LOL

Pizza is my favorite food. I can eat pizza almost everyday and not get sick of it, followed by burgers then wings

 

Put burgers and wings on pizza!!
