Shaky Head

Featured Replies

Which shaky head do you guys prefer to use? And what lure?

Do you guys let it fall to the bottom, then hold your rod tip at 10 o'clock position with short and rapid bursts?

These are what I use most of the time:

I'm not sure what you mean by "rapid bursts." I work them slowly, trying to shake them in place (the amount of time depends on the fish), much like a regular jig. I repeat this process through the strike zone.

I just shaky it really fast for few second...haha.

What worm do you guys use?

I use a football style.  I prefer it over most.  It doesnt tend to roll over.

Lures,  just about anything.  I rarely throw a t rig anymore.  I just shake the lure.

I fish them 2 different ways.  Like a jig or little shakes here and there.

Zoom trick worms.

Megastrike shaky jigs.

In heavy structure where I will lose a lot of baits I go to a cheap round ball head jig.  ;)

honestly...

i was using random shaky head jigs and putting trick worms on them and catching alot of fish.

but what was happening was i was losing alot of them and it was getting upsetting because they are 70 to 120 cents each.  recently though i have decided to forgo the baitholder screws and the flat bottoms and all the other things that make them so expensive and go with these heads...

which are great beacuse they have a 60 degree eye and a 3/0 hook and are cheap cheap.

to solve the "falling down/ no action " problem... i have just switched to using strike king 3x finesse worms. they will NOT fall over and shake with very little effort... standing straight up. not to mention that one worm can sometimes last all day.

i am liking this rig very much and for the price you just cant beat it. ;)

Gotta try the new pro Model Shak-E2 Nothing better-Just came out with the 1/8th oz on Monday

Huh? I didn't block anything.  It works when you don't put a space at the end of the URL.  :;)

Dave's tournament tackle jig head and a strike king 3x finesse worm. Dave's jig head has a spring that you twist the worm down on so it doesn't come off. When I use the 3 worms I heat up the tip of a safety pin with a lighter and poke the worm to form an entrance way for the worm. Anyone who has used the strike king 3x worm on a shaky head knows that it's almost impossible to put it on a head with the spring on it.

J- Thats why we make the spike style also for the Shak-E2-They both have their own applications-
