How Many Times Have You...

Featured Replies

Tried to set the hook and forgot to reel in the slack first lol?? I went fishing with some buddies yesterday, and one of them did this twice and nearly did a back flip into the water both times times. I nearly peed my pants laughing and fell off my self.

Just once that I can remember. I was flipping laydowns in a creek, and saw my line tick, so I swing for the fences, and end up, upside down in the console area of my boat with a broken flipping stick, and had to hand line the 4lber in that I somehow got a hook into.

More than I'd like to admit

Slack line is nothing compared to reeling down and having the bass spit the jig before you set the hook. Ive looked like an idiot a plenty of times.

I haven't done that yet, but I have done other things just as bad.

Not sure I've done that yet, but usually once a year I set the hook without engaging the reel.   9 times out of 10 that ends up in a mess.   lol

More times than I'm willing to publicly admit lol.

I haven't done that but what I have done, and more than once, is to attempt to throw a 1 oz spoon without opening the bail, not always a happy ending.

I have set the hook on many of trees, rocks and a few window panes lol, but yet to fall, with my balance I just move and sometimes fall off the boat...

I'm sorry, but I don't keep stats on that kind of stuff.  If I did I would probably have more deep seated self esteem issues than I've already got.  My approach to fishing miscues has always been to shut up, make sure no one is seriously hurt or nothing is seriously broken and then move on.

i took my brother bottom fishing a week or so ago and he forgot to flip the bail before he set up...kinda sucked getting that backlash out but i couldnt stop laughing lol
