I want to buy a spinning reel for bass fishing with soft plastics,my budget is 150usd,and i am going to use fluorocarbon line,.how was the Daiwa lexa?or the other recommendtion?                         thank you.

Take a look at the Pflueger Supreme MG.  It is a great reel, light and very smooth, a real quality product for $99.

If your budget is $150, I would look toward the upper end. You usually do get what you pay for. When it comes to spinning reels I prefer Shimano, so I would recommend looking at the Symetre and Saros. I have not used the latest generation spinning reels, but I had the prior generation Saros and it was a quality reel for the price, which was a little less than the current model.

with a $100 budget it's hard to go wrong on a spinning reel. I agree that Pflueger is a good bang for your buck.

pflueger supreme xt I have one left in the box at my bait shop in your price range.  Hard to go wrong I am buying 2. 

I own at least one spinning reel from the major brands and they all perform well, spinning is all I use.  For freshwater fishing I don't spend more than $100 for a reel, I just don't see the need.  I would be buying a reel that fits both my rod and my eye the best whatever brand is selected.

For the money, you can't beat a president.

Daiwa Lexa was a good idea, stick with it.  I've been happier with it than the others.  Solid gears and Daiwa's twistbuster anti twist works better than the ideas of the other brands.

I bought a President a few weeks ago based on favorable reviews here and other places. It replaced a Gander reel which I returned which had an intolerable line problem. The President didn't have that problem and seems very good so far.

 

The 2nd time out with the reel I foul-hooked and fought a grass carp for 15 minutes till I got it to the side of the canoe. It was at least a yard long at a rock-bottom minimum. Suffice it to say that the drag worked extremely well.

 

Obviously I have to wait longer to make conclusions about durability, but so far so good. If I needed an extra reel today I wouldn't hesitate to get another President.

Just received my Symetre 2500FJ a couple of days ago from American Legacy.  

 

They were on sale for $59.95 shipped!!   Couldn't pass it up!

 

I don't think they have any more.....must have been a run on them.

Shimano Sahara 2500FE, it's $80 and performs extremely well. I don't see the need in spending that much on a spinning reel... On a BC that's a whole different story.

Everyone has there preferences, ill spend the extra $80 and get the ci4 2500 thats over 2oz's lighter....

 

I look at my spinning reels and baitcasters the same, i want the lighest and best built reel for my money

Just yesterday I caught a 25 pound black drum jigging for flounder. My drag was zinging with 20 pound test power pro. These president reels are the real deal for the price. I had a drum before that do the same thing and it shook the hook after 5 minutes. I fought the one I caught for about 10 minutes before it finally surfaced and floated on top because it was so tired. I've also caught about 60 something bass on it and the drag is so consistent. If I need more spinning reels on a budget, this is the one I would get.

Pflueger President, President XT and Templar owner, love all my reels. you couldn't go wrong with the President but I would personally spend a little more and go with a purist or a supreme.

If I was going to spend $150 on a spinning reel I'd drop a couple extra bucks, about 10, on a Quantum Smoke. Which I totally am going to be doing as soon as I have the extra cash and can convince The Fiance to let me.

I wouldn't mind a smoke either, I go a few more and get the inshore but then again you might as well go a few more and get a patriarch LOL Ebay isn't a bad place to look, bet you could get a new in box for around or slightly under that 150 mark.
