Braid For Finesse/spinning Rod

Featured Replies

Does anyone else use braid on their spinning rods for finesse situations, like when you drop shot, where you also tie on a flouro leader? If so, what brand/lb would you recommend. My buddy uses a set up similar to this for drop shotting and I was considering trying it out. He uses 15lb PP super slick.

I use #10 832 on my drop shot set up. I use #15 Power Pro on two other spinning set ups and it works just great. I rarely use a fluoro leader either.

I do. I have 15 lb power pro on one spinning setup that I use weighted soft plastics on and 5 lb power pro (got a great deal on it) on my medium light rod. I use a flouro leader on both.

I use 10 lb braid on all my spinning rigs, all have leaders as well, length varies.

There is 8lb Fireline on all my spinning rigs and I never, ever use a leader.

Braid on my finesse setup as well -- 10# -- and no flouro leader, though I have been thinking about using one. At any rate, I haven't a problem with either Suffix or PP.

I have used about every type of braid on my spinning outfits. And that being said you cant go wrong with any of them but my suggestion would be get 1 that you can see because super lines even up to 65lb test is hard to see.

I use braid as main line on all my spinning reels. Usually 10 or 15lb, with flouro leaders. 8 for drop shotting, flick shaking, split shotting, etc.....10-12 for other stuff.

I use 10lb PP(regular) with an 8lb Invizx leader for my drop shot. I use a double uni to bring them together.

Works great!

Sunline SX-1 12# on my 3 spinning outfits with 6# fluoro leader.

But, I will soon get the SX-1 in HI Vis yellow as it will be much easier to see.  I can barely see it now!!

I have been using #10 Sufix 832 with a #6 Seguar InvisX leader. Just bought some #10, #20 BP braid to try. I back my spools with mono so I only need 50-70 yards of braid to fill a spool.

i use the Tuf line supercast 12lb that i picked up for the special offer for $5.  kinda tricky when tightening the knot to not strip the coating...but i like the performance of it on 2 spinning rigs.

i've used 20lb PP on 2 other spinning rigs.  and just started using the 20lb Tuf Line braid that i won at the Roadtrip (2,500 yard spool)  a  lifetime supply..  :)  no complaints yet with it.

10lb power pro regular, super slick, and sufix performance braid for me.

10lb PP, or 10lb 832. I am going to try Hi-Inv after reading some articles, but probably going to need a leader for this setup.

Anyone tried Cabela's Ripcord SI+  your thoughts?
