Hardbody: Shad Rap, DT6, 8 or 10

Soft Plastics: if it looks appealing it generally works.

  • 10 Years later . . . .  The Jack Hammer gets on this 'list'. 3/8 & 1/2 oz - and don't forget that Zako trailer ! A-Jay

  • You can catch smallies on the same lures you use for large mouth. A few things I never leave home without when targeting smallmouth; tubes, grubs, flukes, senkos, and spinnerbait.

Did anyone say ned rig?

I finally used it and it worked. But ...it was just okay

In order of my favorites

popper

jerkbait - both hard or soft

large swim bait 6"

drop shot

micro jig

tube

wacky senko

Its currently in my holiday box of Christmas tree ornaments with my whopper ploppers.

I was about to give up on the Whopper Plopper but then I caught five one day and seven the next. Now I have the confidence to keep throwing.

Fluke and UV Speed craw and a Rebel craw dad crank bait

Spro rock-crawlers (9-14ft) several great colors and a green pumpkin tube ( bitsy tube) with an over sized jig head, to give a gobie/bulb-us head look.
