Guests, Readers Only???

Featured Replies

I just checked the online viewers list here and we have many more guest viewers than registered viewers here? Whats up with that are you guys, gals and youngsters afraid to register and become a member here? We talk about bass fishing but cover all types of fishing in one section too. Do you have something that you do and want to share it? Or want to stir the pot and ask a question? This is a fishing information highway here and if your not registered and involved then we all are losing out. So come on guests your welcome here let's register and say hello, and talk fishing.

Don't sneak or lurk in the shadows get involved in something

great right here. There is a bunch of gals and guys willing to help you weTher you fish from shore or have a yak or boat it's still the same bass fishing talk. It's the registered numbers here that makes this site great so join today. Don't be shy. BigBill

I sometimes go on the forum with my phone. Its a pain to log in everytime, so I check really quick and stay for a bit if there's a topic i'm interested in.

So i'd be a unregerested user in that sense.

On the PC, i'm always logged in.

If you check the online list you see many numbers of unregistered guests. I zip on and off sometimes too without logging on. But the guests can't be all registered I blogged users? I think many guests are missing out on the fun of talking with all of us about bass fishing.

A lot of people probably use searches like people said but there are tons more that are "SPOT STEALERS" IMO they search for a hijack spots without contributing like vultures lol

This happens a lot.

The site logs me off after a period of time.  So thats probably it.  But most of it are a result of searches and or google's crawler's going through all the dataz.

Where do you go and what do you do to check on, " online viewers ",?

There are also search engine crawlers. They are computers that visit sites in order to search for keywords to list pages in the search engine.

Unfortunately true in some cases. I've had to stop being as descriptive on some of my local spots after a couple of them got hijacked. Now if someone wants detailed info I have to do it in a PM. Sucks but some people just want to take and give nothing in return. My spots that got jacked NEVER get fished like I was doing and aren't popular spots at all and all the sudden after I made a post there was people there all the time doing what I had been doing. Maybe I'm just suspicious but it seemed to be more than happenstance to me.

I am with bluebasser, I will discuss on the forum general areas, but specific locations, nope. I will privately, discuss locations with members that I have known for a while, but a spot hunter, I develop my own case of lock jaw.

Or never.  Take a look.

Not that I have any documented proof but unregistered people just may be looking for locations to fish.  Most of the time my homework is done before I go fishing, I know where I'm going and what I'm fishing for.  Much of the time I leave my smart phone in the car, but if I do happen to have it with me I may snap a picture but would never take time to post it while fishing, I can do that when I get home.

Thanks for the topic, Bill. I know that I lurked on here for two years before I got up the nerve to join. I agree that the search engines directions probably bring people here (that's how I found BR myself), but I'll bet there are a good number like me who start reading and come back over and over. So, to those of you out there who're shy like me, come on in. I know it's intimidating that there are so many people here who have mega-experience and knowledge, but they were new once too. For any kids out there, this forum is especially welcoming and supportive

I found this site a few years ago back in high school but just read the articles. never really got into the forums for bass fishing just baseball.. then I joined and since then I can truley say, I've gotten lost in this site for along time just reading Yeats of posts and knowledge! On more than multiple occasions.....

Interesting topic/thread. I guess I wasn't thinking of the myriad of "guests" possibly lurking for fishing location info. And here I thought I had it figured out, LOL!!

I often see "Bing" as "online"...

But I lurked for a while before I joined, too. Learned a lot from the forums here, hope I've been able to contribute as well.. Phenomenal resource.

All it takes is that I cought a 12lb bass there and before you know it, the whole weekend angler are there trying to do it too.  lol!

If even 1/2 of them went to the Annual BR road trip, it would be bigger than the Classic !

i wish i had boat... id deff go i dont think i would enjoy shore fishing!

I am one of those people that rarely log in, I read the boards often and very seldom log in or post. It's not because I am trying to steal information or anything like that it's simply because I am still learning to bass fish. When I feel that I can contribute to a conversation or help someone then I log in and post. Otherwise I am just reading and trying to learn as I go. I'm the same way in real life. I guess what I'm trying to say is some people are naturally quiet and shy, but just because I don't have thousands of posts doesn't mean that I'm trying to hurt anyone in any way. I try to keep the faith that most fishermen are better than that
