Probably Been Asked This A Lot But.....

Featured Replies

What's your favorite line for a spinning rod? Brand? Mono? Flouro? Braid? I made the mistake of allowing someone else to choose my line and let's just say my last fishing expedition was not fun. Constant twists, bad memory, and bad memories for me lol.

10-20 braid with a leader if you need it.

20lb power pro braid with about 6 ft. of 8lb fluoro as a leader of your choice.   I like berkley fluoro or p-line.  Learn how to tie alberto knot or double uni knot for the leader.

10lb PowerPro with a 6 or 8lb Seaguar Invizx leader if needed.

I like McCoy extra clear.very little memory and smooth.6 OR 8 LB. POWERPRO superslick in 15 or 20 lb I like too. .Braid is nice because of lack of stretch and no memory. I just dont like catching fish on braid. Dont know, not use to it I guess. Caught a 12" perch on a tube and it felt like a 3 lber. Hah!. I wanna have it though for certain situations. two rods one with braid and one straight copolymer.

8lb mono or fluoro. I don't use the real cheap stuff either, as it only causes problems. I like Sniper or Tatsu for fluoro. Mono isn't as big of a deal. I like Super Natural most of the time. My favorite is Toray Bawo Polyamide Plus, but it's pretty pricey.

Yo-Zuri hybrid co-polymer, 6-10 lb. mostly.

6lb medium light and below, 10lb medium. If I need more power I use 20lb braid

10-20 braid with a leader if you need it.

What they said. I will add that I really like the Power Pro Super Slick. Smooth as silk, casts great, great strength (except against rock), so I use a fluoro leader when fishing rock or gin clear water.

As far as line twist, make sure you are closing your bail by hand, every cast, and not by turning the handle. Not sure why this works, it just does.

8-10 Seaguar Invizx fluoro. I might give braid and leader a try this spring.

8lb trilene sensation mono for finesse, 10lb bps excel for everything else.

Either Trilene XL or Suffix Siege in mono for my spinning reels.  I keep the braid and flouro for my bait casters.  I do want to put some Nanofil on one spinner but with all of the mono I already have in supply it's just not in my immediate plans.

I use 10# pp on two, 12# nanofil on another, and 8# berkley trilene xl pro grade 100% fluoro on the fourth.

10 or 15 lb braid

Braid for mainline on all my reels, spinning gets 10lb, bait casting 20.

Leaders for all anywhere from 6-15 lbs, and mostly P-Line Floroclear or Yo Zuri Hybrid, then pure fluoro.

10# sufix seige unless cover of fish size dictate I need 30# braid

Berkley Trilene XL 100% FC that they just came out with--specifically designed for spinning rods. I bought some in 8 lbs and I love it more than the Seguar Ivisix I had on there before. It does have line memory but not as bad as Invisix. I also put KVD L&L on there so that helps a lot.

10lb braid, standard power pro is ok but stay away from the slick braid, worse wind knots ever. But I do love it on my baitcaster's though.  And about an 8ft flouro topshot.  And always close the bail with your hand to help minimize line twists.

It depends on what technique/lure/rod im using.

#6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Tatsu
