been bass fishing on long islands small lakes and ponds for over 3 decades now, finally joining this great site. Awesome info here and look foward to contributing in the future.  John

the fishing is very good on the right lake. There are a lot of lakes on LI, a good number are shallow and weedy.... most of them are under 100 acres.

No I have never fished in CT.

welcome!  my wife's grandmother lives in queens and i want to hit some of those small lakes and ponds i see up there every time we go to visit.

Welcome ... you have to be excited about the Bass Pro and Cabelas opening up down there on the western side of the island.  

 

Will certainly be going to visit the shops as a part of my trips to visit my family.

I don't fish in any of the city lakes, no boats allowed,

I stay out in Suffolk county, where on days there is no one on the lake but me, which is great.

If you come up check out the ny dec website for info. They have some special regulations over there ( no lead weights, barbless hooks ect).

I hear it's still 2 or 3 years away, and may not be 100 percent definite.

I hope it happens because the closest to me are about 3 hours plus drive, that I don't do.
