What's Your Favorite Tube

Featured Replies

I usually throw a watermelon strike king tube, had a lot of luck on them when I was younger so I just stuck with it. What size, color, brand tube do you like throwing? Also do you fish it weightless or on a jig head. 90% of the time I throw mine weightless because I'm too lazy to switch hooks

The majority of the time, I'm throwing StrikeKing tubes. Last year I tried NetBait's BK tube and fell in love with the 5.25 in version. Tubes are a great bait for skipping under docks and this larger version allows me to stay farther from the docks in the clear lakes I fish often.  Okeechobee Craw and Green Pumpkin are my favorites, but a StrikeKing white tube in the fall is a killer when fished like a walking bait just under the surface.

The majority of the time I'll fish a tube either on a tube jig, or with an internal weight T-rigged. The beauty of these riggings is, unlike traditional T-rigging, they don't hinder the tubes ability to spiral on the fall. The only other way I rig them is weightless and I'll fish them like a Fluke.

The best and softest tube made, River Rock Baits, both the standard and pro model tubes are great but the pro model is really one of a kind, no softer tube on the market and the fish eat it, it is just an awesome tube.

Love me some Poor Boy's Tubes!

zoom and gitzit x2

Bass Pro magnum flippin' tubes for me. I texas rig them too.

Anyone ever try the owner tube hook, is it any different than a normal jig head

the owner tube hook is pretty awesome, allows you to rig the tube basically weedless and it has owners super sharp cutting hooks

zoom and Venom

X2 for River Rock Baits tubes.  And, they will do a single dip, double dip and triple dip.

I often use tubes with no weight or up to a 1/16 oz. to fish pad fields in northern MN.  The 4" triple dip tube weighs almost a half oz.  So they permit long casts with medium heavy to heavy action rods.

  1. Dry Creek tubes  out of Idaho.  Baby Bass and Bluegill rock.  Great company....Tight lines

Cabin creek

Zoom but I will say I have only tried half a dozen brands so maybe I might like others. With out question I caught more fish on zoom tubes last year then anything. They are thick and last a lot of fish and that's a plus. I also usually do a little quick custom work on them with a knife before I even fish them usually.
