Best Way To Fish A Senko

Featured Replies

Wacky, weightless or texas rig. What have u guys had the most success on?

ive been fishing senkos weightless and been getting bit more and I tend to let the senko do all the work. there is a lot  of grass in my normal lake and have trouble fishing wacky with a regular type hook.

I prefer a weightless Texas rig for senkos but lots of people on the forums like wacky rigging senkos.

This is my first year fishing wacky Senkos. I bought bags of them a few years ago and never really got into using them. But each spring I try to commit to trying something new. So far, that's all they're biting! I can't believe I've waited this long to use em! So that's my pick...wacky.

1. Weightless wacky works for me.

2. Pegged with a very small  split shot about 8 to 10 inches up does well also.

For me, wacky, by far.

Other methods have also been successful (TX, Mojo, weightless TX). An all around great bait.

Weightless wacky, weighted wacky jigheads are my favorite ways to fish them.  I also like to do a weightless texas rig with a nail weight in the tail and shake it like a shaky head on the bottom.  The slimmer profile makes it slip into cover a lot better than a wacky rig.

Weightless (T-rig hook position sans weight). AKA Fly-lined.

Wacky and weighted Texas rigged, I like to use a weedless hook fishing wacky in heavy cover in pockets for missed strikes on frogs or sight fishing.

I also like to use a hook

Weightless T-rigged.

It depends on what kind of cover I am fishing in.  If its fairly clear I will t-rig the bait.  If I am fishing in a lot of slop, then I go weightless.

Wacky is the top method for me but don't limit it too only that application as it also performs very well rigged other ways. Yesterday I killed them pitching it on a 1/4 oz pegged sinker Texas rigged. Falls quickly without a lot of weight and no appendages to get hung up .

Couple Senko questions:

1) When someone says "senko," are they referring to any stick bait that resembles the actual Senko worms?

2) Which style and length of Senko are best?
