Zoom Super Hog

Featured Replies

I've been loving these freaking things lately. Tremendous success flipping, bouncing, and dragging it t-rigged through grass. It's been outperforming baby brush hogs when fished side by side with the same great hookup ratio.

How many of you guys have been throwing super hogs with the same success? I'm curious to hear when and where it's produced for you, and just as importantly, when and where it hasn't produced.

I used to use nothing but beavers, until I tried a pack of super hogs this spring. Now, its all I use. Watermelon candy had been the top color.

They work great for pitching docks. When greased up with megastrike, they slide through grass extremely well.

The only thing I dislike is that nobody local stocks them. I have no problem finding brush hogs and baby brush hogs, but no super hogs.

Oh and after some experimenting, I found I like using a 4/0 hook with them. It puts the hook about as far back as it can go and still be able to bury the hook point in the body to keep it weedless. Hookup % increased after going to the larger hook.

I have them but I don´t fish them as oftenly as brush hogs, I like to throw them where I normally don´t throw brush hogs because they don´t have long curly tails that can wrap around limbs ( like brush hogs do sometimes ) or stems. Good bait, almost like every Zoom bait out there.

Shhhhh... :)

Yep..i've been killing bass on these for the last 3 years....last year I bought an aluminum mold that is very close to the Super Hog and have been making my own with extra salt and scent....my tournament partner and I only use these to pitch with now. The ones I am making use a different plastic that makes the tail section stand up when they are on the bottom.

Why do you think they perform better than the baby brush hogs?

Why do you think they perform better than the baby brush hogs?

They're a bulkier bait with a more subtle action than the baby brush hogs, and they come through thick cover much better.

They seem to catch a little bit better quality fish for me than a lot of other flipping baits.

I got started using them a few years ago.  Now I use them more than tubes.

How do you guys fish them, t-rigged, weightless t-rigged, Carolina rigged, rage rigged, as a jig trailer?

You fish them all the time like that or a specific one, like mostly weightless-t-rigged?

Weighted T-rig mostly

How do you add weight to to your T-Rig?

Does anyone Rage Rig Super Hogs?

By placing some sort of lead/tungsten/brass weight on your line above the hook....
