Trailer/no Trailer On The Cavitron Buzzbaits?

Featured Replies

Just ordered a couple cavitrons, and was wondering if I should use these with maybe a rage grub or just leave them as is?

Experment..see what they like...my buddie just nailed a 9lb. this week with a trailer

Sometimes a plain skirt works fine.

I rarely use a skirt + plastic trailer.

More often than not, I don't ever use a skirt. I like R.I skinny Dippers or 5in Grubs.

I do use a trailer hook with them in open water, especially for smallies. I don't use a plastic trailer on my buzzbaits though. I suppose I should try it sometime though.

I like using them with little swimbait. Something with a kicker tail it gives the bass something to focus in on.

I like to put flukes on the back.

As it comes out of the box but with a trailer hook attached.

No trailer, no trailer hook.

^^^ what he said. Open the package and tie it on.

Generally I fish it as is.

I've heard that adding a trailer can cause the cavitron to not run true. I will probably fish it as is if that's the case.

I haven't noticed that. The Cavitron just gets bent up very easily and has to be tuned after every fish. The one i have tied on right now is so mangled but it runs straight (some how), still catches em'.

No trailer, always with a trailer hook. I can't tell you how many fish I've caught this year on just that trailer hook. It doesn't hurt anything to not use it, so you might as well increase your hookup odds.

No trailer, no trailer hook.

100% of the time this is how I fish mine.

I throw nothing on mine but a trailer hook. For what it's worth, almost any trailer of any size whatsoever added onto the shank as a trailer causes it to run on its side anyway.

I don't fish so I cant help ya

to busy building them.screw it I quit Im going right now
