First Jig Fish!

Featured Replies

Today, I did something that I've been trying my hardest to do for two months: catch a jig fish. I fished it and fished it (not exclusively, but often) for that time period without even getting a bite.

Imagine my exuberance today when I finally caught a jig bass! Did a little dance move and whooped in the air......May many more follow!

Congratulations. Hopefully there's going to be many more.

Next thing that will probably happen is you'll fish them more.  And then you'll notice the size of the fish you catch on jigs tends to be larger than on other baits.  And then you'll fish them even more again!

Tight lines,

Bob

Congrats. You might have to change your handle.

I did a little dance too when I finally caught my first jig fish.  In fact, I probably did... a jig. Congrats!

Hey, just catch it man!  Size will come on jigs for sure.  I love to break the ice on a new lure or technique myself!

Congrats! I remember my first jig fish:  a 3.5 pound

largie! Very exciting that first jig fish. I've actually

been keeping a jig tied on one of the 3-4 rods I take

with me on the yak lately.

My first jig fish was a half pound dink. The second was my PB in my avatar. Now I almost always keep a jig tied up and on deck.

Now play back in your mind from the time you realized you were bit until hookset!

Congratulations on one of many. ;)
