Because of post 1 in this thread I've been desperately trying to find X-dads in any of the 3 craw colors and they are out of stock everywhere pretty much. Did they stop making them? You can find one or 2 max here and there. These would kill for smallmouth on the rocks. I'm freaking out. About to buy 3 from Japan and 2 from Dicks cause that's all I've found. Will cost upwards of 150$ CAN... Even TW doesnt have these colors.

I can't believe you got yours already!  I ordered my Alphas SV on the 13th, and the tracking shows it is still in Chicago as of this morning.

 

What are your early impressions of the reel so far?

got about 170 dollars worth of baits and hooks in my TW cart. would like to reduce that price a little but i want it all

It's a small frame and pretty light. I don't like the short handle but I already ordered one the same time I bought the reel. It'll get Boca bearings but I do that to all my reels. Casting seems pretty normal for what I was using. About average with my other reels. Line lay could be a tad better unless I got a dud. Odd thing I noticed was when pulling drag the line guide moves on the gear.

I absolutely cannot believe some of the deals you guys get. Here in Quebec, Canada we don't even have Basspro, Dick's OR Cabelas and our dollar is currently worth 20% less than yours. We just have SAIL and it's pretty much a monopoly. (aside from small shops here and there) I pay a hell of a lot more for my tackle and sure as hell don't have any sales a fraction of what I've seen here. It's cheaper for me to order from Japan than the US.

Yeah it does suck. But in Ontario we have 2 Bass Pros! And a Cabelas! But eveything is more expensive. To put in in perspective, Chronarch CI4s go for 330 up here, and I have seen shops selling them for 400. Craziness...

I ordered it on the 12th, and it was delivered on the 17th. That included the weekend too. My gills arrived today also. Time to flip those suckers haha

So I am no swimbait expert or anything, but I took the hudd gill to the neighborhood pond just to see how it swims. To my surprise, the thing was hard to keep upright on a steady retrieve. I was using a 6:4, and I had to reel extremely slow for it to swim upright ( even then it still fell over a lot). Did I have the wrong impression that it was supposed to swim upright? Lol Or was it designed to be something else?

I'm not either but in my limited experience fishing my Hudd's I reel them very slowly. That's using a cardiff which is 5:x:1.

Yeah the only success I have ever had with a swimbait was reeling it slow...just not this slow lol Im definitely going to test it out here soon. The water is chocolate milk everywhere right now.

I've been waiting on my E6X 7'1" JWR to come in since mid February...arrival date on TW keeps getting pushed back. Hoping for it in the next couple weeks. Anyone have one yet?
