Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)

Featured Replies

Well, didn't buy much at the Expo, but the next day I went to Dicks to get my fishing licence, and got hypnotized by the pretty red tags that said 20% off on three or more...

Was visiting a relative in Grover Beach, CA which is minutes away from the Tackle Warehouse headquarters and retail shop so I stopped in to check it out for the first time.  I must say I was a little let down on the size of the place. I had envisioned it being like a Costco size store full of fishing tackle! Hahaha. But nonetheless it was still an awesome store and anything they didn't have in the store front they had in the back and were able to grab it really fast. Luckily my brother was with me (he doesn't fish) , so I wasn't in there very long and only walked out of there doing $50 in damage. I have never fished the Fat Ika and have been hearing good things, so that was the main thing on my list:

Fat Ika 4" Watermelon/ W BLK FLK x 2

Fat Ika 4" Black/ W BLU FLK x 2

Rage Tail Cut R Worm Black/ W Blu Flk x 2

California Swim Jigs by Dirty Jigs Tackle x 2

My small (~1oz) swimbait/glide box is officially ready to go for spring. A little bit of everything. Some long and skinny, some short and fat, floaters and sinkers and some variety of good jerk/steady retrieve/glide looks.

Day 2 of +50F temps too. The river by my house has already broken out. It's coming, gentlemen. It's coming.

I am sitting here looking at my new GLoomis NRX894C H and its about 70 degrees outside. I cannot think of a more cruel and unusual punishment.

I have a couple double pedals. ;)

Hit up the local Field and Stream and walked out with 3 Rapala DT6's and 2 X-raps. Grand total of $17 plus another $5 back in points. Gotta love those coupons!

Post on the tackle making form on the outcome on the wiggle warts

Got some stuff from Dick's during their buy one get one 50% off; went in with my brother on a bunch of SK cranks, jerk baits, and a couple jigs.

Also put another order in for some football head jigs with Siebert Outdoors in both 3/8 and 1/2 oz.

Stopped in at The Wacky Worm in Broadheadsville, PA and purchased 10 packages of finess and shaky head plastics, some drop shot weights, a wacky tool and a couple of packages of Carolina keepers. Got  a bunch more plastics and some Jigs on order from TW. Tomorrow I'm headed out to Cabelas in Hamburg to look at a new sonar for the bow.

I have my tackle just about as organized as I can get it. If the ice doesn't melt soon, I will have no money left to put gas in the tank.

I've been able to keep the monkey at bay, until now.  The JDM monkey caught me and coerced me into buying a JDM Chronarch CI4 in 7.6:1...

It's my first dive into JDM hardware, but will be a while before I use it because the freshwaters near me are still solid....

Now the hard part's going to be NOT buying a new stick to put it on.....   oh the HORROR!

I saw eels at BPS in Foxboro the other day.  Being in MA, any success with it?

You should convert your trolling motor pedal...

I caved in and picked up the new Alphas along with a 100mm carbon handle for it.

Just went to the local sportsman show and picked up a Temple Fork Outfitters Signature rod for $25 and a bunch of hand poured plastics. But that rod price was ridiculous. I didn't even need it but I couldn't pass it up.
