What's Wrong With This?

It's grammar, but you spelled it correctly in post #8.

That was part of the joke...another very common mistake similar to what Hootie was describing in his original post, just like the misuse of then when it should have been than in my first post.

It's way too early in winter to be this low already....

Hootie, many great guys who are excellent bass fishermen did not tear up their high school courses.

Many great guys who are excellent bass fisherman have careers that do not have to master good English and spelling.

Many great guys who are excellent bass fishermen use spell check and sometimes spell check replaces the incorrect spelled word with another one that is not correct.

Many great guys who are excellent bass fishermen are poor spellers, like me.

I can write articles for books and magazines and create a dynamite report for my clients but I can't spell worth a darn.

The problem lies with the way people see and value your input if you use poor grammar; poor punctuation; run on sentences; do not clearly ask your query; fail at using "white space" so that your input is easier to read and digest; and do not check your spelling.

The majority of the time I can read the post without regard to spelling, grammar and punctuation.  Other times it drives me nuts.

I will get worried about cabin fever when people start asking for assistance with grammar.

I am with Sam on this: While we are often judged on our ability to speak and write properly and clearly, it really has nothing to do with our abilty to fish or define our character or value as humans. Like Sam I can't spell either, and without spell check or a real paper and ink dictionary (a relic unknown to most today) I would be lost. With all that said, the way grammar and spelling has deteriorated does challenge me at times.

Wasn't talking about grammar, I was talking about my Grammer...lol.

Yep, that was kind of the point.

Came upon this while walking through Arlington National Cemetery last month. I still am both humored and saddened when I think about it. After four years, you'd think a loved one would have done something about it.

That actually makes me sick to my stomach...

Thanks for calling me out. Just Kidding. It is auto-correct on my computer is why it happens to me.

You get only partial credit. That should have been written as **Maybe your just better at spelling and grammer then they are?**

And you should get partial credit because it should read " Maybe your just better at spelling and grammar "than" they are. " than" not " then"

I was just about to type this, but I figured I'd skim through the posts to see if anyone else noticed it. ha

I definitely see definately more than any other misspelling of the word. I by no means judge an individual's worth as a person on their spelling or grammar (I have plenty of friends that fall into this category and never bring it up), but when I see basic spelling and grammar errors on an application it definitely puts it at the bottom of the pile.

For the record, I've always been a terrible speller.
