What Are Some Good Shakey Head Jigheads?

Featured Replies

what are some good worms to use on them?

Megastrike Shake2. Trickworms, Roboworms, KVD Finesse Worms, Powerbait Shakeyworm, pretty much any worm you want to throw on.

I like the megastrike heads as well. I have also had good luck with the picasso shakedown heads

I pour my own heads and about the only plastic that I don't use occasionally on a shakyhead is a tube. For worms I like Zoom trick worms, finesse worms, and shaky worms as well as the Netbait Tmac and finesse worms.

Like Bluebasser86 I pour my own shaky heads and the worms I use on them are a 4.5" finesse worm, a 5" finesse worm and a few different craws and larger worms. Of the larger worms that I really like, the Stanley Sidewinder 5.5" is my favorite, it doesn't get talked about much but in stained water it is hard to beat.

I like Jeff Kriet's line from Jewell.

As far as baits I prefer berkley bottom hoppers

Arkie U-bolt ballhead matched with strike 3x worm unbeatable shakyhead setup

I really like the VMC Rugby heads, they are kind of a hybrid between a round and football head, plus they have an offset EWG hook which I like a LOT better than any of the spring and or barb type bait keepers on most shakey heads. Like Bluebasser86, I fish just about every plastic I own on them.

I hammer smallmouths in the river using 6" zoom Lizards in green pumpkin or 6" bass pro green pumpkin/magic pearl.  My most confident plastic setup I use.  I used to throw carolina/texas rigs with Lizards but the shaky head presentation is much better, at least for me. I catch them year round with this setup.

Not exactly a shaky head, but most of the time I use Charlie Brewer slider heads.  Chompers makes a kind of wedge head in a variety of sizes that work ok for me.  These have a spring coming out of the top of the head.  I have a variety of other brands, of those the ones I use most often have the spring coming out of the top of the head.

Strike King ball & football jigheads in 1/8th oz. easy to find - a little harder to find but still very good are offerings from Gambler and Spot Remover .

Owner Ultra Head shakey heads with NetBait T-Mac worms, fantastic combo.

A little known tackle company called D&L Tackle makes a traditional and football head. They're both awesome and very inexpensive.

I just use some bps jigheads with a 60° line tie and 3/0 hook. They are dirt cheap. I was using all different kinds of shakey heads and it just chaffed me to spend that kind of money on the jigheads.

I use these with zoom trick worms normally. I like the elaztech worms when the bite is tough/ water is clear.

Roboworms too.

I like these shakeyheads http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Zenith-Shake-Head-436.htmbecause the can be fished in any was I choose. They have durn near replaced the t-rig.

I usually throw a variety of plastics on them but the top three producers are a Zoom finesse worm, a Zoom 4" dead ringer, and a R.I. smallie beaver.
