I have been in the market for some new rods with more sensitivity as my Ugly Sticks are starting to wear down and I want to try something new. Looking for something with.

Both setups will need to have the maximum amount of sensitivity as I can get for bottom contact as both setups will be used mostly for T rigs, Jigs, and Topwater.

Medium heavy - medium = rods power.

Extra fast - fast - moderate = rods action.

There's also no set standard so one company might be different from another.

"Best $100 rod" threads are pretty common on here. A quick search will give you reading material for days. My vote is to find a clearance crucial. Tatula,elite tech,***

Also as you'll see... Everyone has their preference on what the 'best' is. A lot of them also have no experience with other rods to make a fair comparison when claiming it's the best $100 rof on the market. Heck some people can just look at a rod and tell how sensitive it is. They don't even have to of used it.

There are many good and much more sensitive rods than Ugly Stiks for that money, LightninRods are one, BPS Tourney Specials, Shimano Clarus, just to bame a few.

The best $100 rod on the market is a Duckett Ghost series rod.. check them out.

I like my Veritas rods for $100

I was looking into the BPS Johnny Morris Carbon Lite rods. They have some good reviews. What I am looking for is the most durable and most sensitive rod for my buck.

I like the Cabelas Tournament ZX rods and you can't go wrong with the Duckett Ghost rods.  The Tournament ZX can sometimes be found for less than $80 when they have sales.

If you can still get the Carbonlite rods for $69 get one of those.... If not, a Veritas is a good rod, and the old 1.0 model can be found for $50. Berkley Lightning Rods are pretty good for $39 as well, and that will save you some bucks to buy more stuff!! I'd also look into the new Johnny Morris Signature rods, with the new cork grips. They look really nice and super sensitive!

I have been very impressed with my MH  carbonlite, I mainly use it for t-rigs

The ZX's are a good buy.  Another Cabela's rod that I consider worthy is the Fish Eagle 50.  They are very sensitive and durable sticks with regular price of $90.

I've got a shimano clarus, carbonlite and veritas and Iike all of them. I picked them all up on sale. There might be some still around going for cheap.

Get something that looks good to you because just about anything you get in that price range is going to be a head and shoulders difference to what you have now. A few things to remember is make sure you get a graphite rod and not a glass and get a fast action. One little pet peeve I have, and the pros do this all the time, is calling a rod a medium action or medium heavy action, it isn't the action but the power of the rod, a medium action rod is also called moderate and it is more or less a cranking rod that bends deep into the blank, a medium power with a fast action is a different rod but I can't fault your terminology since the pros do this all the time.

I'm throwing my vote in for the Cabela's Tournament ZX. I think they were on sale for $69 a few weeks ago. I have 4 *** Blacks and if I catch the ZX back on sale, I will probably load up on them and then try to sell my Omens. Not that the *** is a bad rod. For ~$100 it's hard to beat. It just doesn't fit me like the ZX does. I'm in love with those rods.

Do yourself a huge favor and look at Halo Fishing Rods. I've seen a few bad reviews, but personally use mine almost ecstasy'll everyday, and it is the lightest and finest piece of equipment I've ever held. You can purchase a rod from their Daylite series for $80, if not cheaper.

A rod with the same properties would cost you tons more.

I'm going to say no to halo rods for someone wanting to upgrade from an ugly stick for the first time and the reason is due to the action. Yes, the rods are lighter than what the OP is currently using but Halo rods all have moderate action so he isn't going to understand the benefits of a fast action graphite rod for T-rigs as he is hoping for. One of our club member grabbed a Twilite rod when they came out and it got sent back after 45 minutes on the water with 3 anglers trying it. It isn't bad but the rod was intended for jigs and to everyone of us it seemed more suited to cranks, I've seen moderate rods for jigs before but this was really moderate, this would be the last rod series I'd recommend. Now they are ok if you are experienced and like using braid for most, if not all applications and I think that is what Halo rods are designed for, any other line and you just aren't going to set a hook well with those rods, the OP needs a little more backbone than what he has.
