I think we can all agree that Mustad has the best hooks. They're hooks that are sticky sharp, have long-lasting points, and are super strong. The hook-up ratio is phenomenal with these hooks. It's plain and simple, you just don't loose fish like you do with other brands. I mean heck, KVD uses them!

I think you quoted the wrong guy - nothing incorrect with saying Mustad hooks !

I like Owner and Gamagatsu hooks for drop shot as well - pick one of the three I mentioned and you can't go wrong !

you can use any type of hook for a drop shot. i like to drop shot live bait a lot. the smallest thin wire hook ive drop shotted with is probably a 1/0 eagle claw abeerdeen hook...

I think that we can all agree that some hooks are lighter than others.   Me, I like the Gamakatsu Wicked wacky hooks in a 1/0, 2/0 or 3/0 size, depending on baits.  I'm not a big fan of those drop shot hooks that are mounted on swivels.

Gamakatsu #2 drop shot hooks are REALLY light. I use them on a light action rod with 6lb fluoro. Gamakatsu > Mustad 

Owner Mosquito hooks are a very thin wire hook and work well for a drop shot.
