When you get it let me know how it fishes!  I am needing a new spinning rod later in the year.

  • Standard Fuji aluminum oxide, from what I've gathered. Good looking sticks, though I'd like to have seen micro alconites to shed some weight in the tip.

Just got Email alert from AL.. Taking preorders, appears to be a nice looking stix, w/ loomis styled cork handles, which I like better than all other production rods. No ML sticks though, lol, I'm going to call and try and reach Brian, and see if I can nail down the guide train a bit more, I keep dropping calls...

I might need to pick one up.

This is less money than a GL2 which means the blank with feel dull and it will be heavy and whan I say heavy I mean in the same class the GL2 is in which is heavy for the price range.

How do you know that when the rod has not been released yet. Did you ever think that the blank might be something special in it's price range? I think G Loomis might be going after a segment of the market that they have not been overly successful in the past. Its a new product give it a chance before you poo poo it.

I'm already eyeing up the 845 CBR, but I was hoping for a good rod in the GL2 and kind of was bummed out and they raised the price. I am keeping fingers crossed but I'm not getting hyped because I'm afraid of the let down.

Look at what they have done with the new reels introduced last year & this new year. They might just be on a roll. Gary from Tackle Trap seemed pretty happy with the MBR 903C he was testing.  :respect-059:

I'm interested in the 722 and 721? Glad to see them keeping short light action rods in the line up. Was looking for a 783 crankbait rod. Maybe in the future.

At this price point, I wonder how it will compare to the Avid's?

I am kind of curious about this as well.  If it is a step down from the GL2, then the Avid is still the best bang for the buck.

I'm slightly optimistic on them doing better this time around.  :eyebrows:
