Best Cheap Cranking Rod For Under 50$

Featured Replies

So recently, I have been looking to get a dedicated crankin setup. As of now, I am looking at the Browning Silaflex rod which has Fuji AO guides and is made of Shoktek glass. Are there any other decent rods in the price range that I have mentioned (under 50$)?

Ethos rods from Academy seem very well made & they have Fujis.

Lightning rods, vendettas, and for 20 more, cabelas tournament ZX (on sale). I have those 3. Lightning rod for my River beater spinning Rod and vendetta for an extra jig and today I got the ZX. I'm sure the ethos is good too. I have the mettle reel and it's worth atleast double its price. All will do well but pick the one that you like the most. All people will tell you different things.

Powell diesel when on sale is around that range. I use mine for square bill, lipless, and medium divers.

Shimano Sellus for me, you can find for 50.

If you have a Gander Mountain near you check them out.  They are selling the last model of their Tournament series for $50, marked down from $99.99.  I looked at them the other day and they are really super light.

Ethos cranking rod from Academy.I have one and ot works just fine for squarebills to mid depth baits.

Hey guys, I'm lookin for a crankbait rod, but I don't want to spend more than 50 bucks... I was wondering what rods you guys would recommend. Would an ugly stick work well?

In the past, Bass Pro would put their Crankin' Sticks on sale for $49.99 occassionally.  Can't say I recall it lately, but then again I don't shop much at Bass Pro anymore.

I really like the Cherrywood HD for cranking and a lot of other things.  It's whippy enough to have a good tip action.  For $20 you might as well give it a shot!

I've just hauled Dad's old Lew's Speed Stick out, and will be trying it for cranking this year.
