Lake Fork Tackle Plastics

I received a package of Hyper Worms last year and while I loved the action, the color left with too little confidence to give them a fair shake.  I've since seen a couple/few posts about some of their other stuff (I notice that RW uses/likes the Magic Shad) but not much chatter, all in all.

Since I'm reconsidering my contention that I already have WAY too much plastic, I'm thinking about giving LFT another chance.

What is your experience with their soft plastics?  Good?  Bad?  What do you like best?  Their wide segmentations look funny to me, but must have been a big part of the action I saw on the Hyper Worm.   Thoughts?

The live magic shad is an awesome bladed jig trailer. I also like putting it on a wobble jig head and fishing main lake points with it in the fall.

I like the LFT love magic shad a lot. Throw it on a chatterbait or a weighted swim bait hook. Also, the lake fork creature is a pretty good flipping bait.

^ What he said. I also use the Live Magic Shad rigged weedless on a weighted swimbait hook. It has incredible action both swimming and on the drop.

There was a point last season that for a week in mid april they would only bite Magic Shads. Give them a shot on the jig head they sell the rigged version with.

Lake Fork Trophy Lures are proven on every tournament trail around for both big bass & big stringers.

I use 2 sizes of LFT live magic shad. The bigun, and one size smaller.. As far as rigging, that's my secret!

I use their magic shad and have had great luck on em. I also use their hyper freaks and those helped me catch a lot of fish last year as well. After having luck on those I went on to buy a couple of their squarebills. Overall, I really like them and their products a lot.

I only use the live magic shad also..

on a:

scrounger head (my no. 1 choice)

weighted swim bait hook

chatterbait trailer

buzzbait trailer

A-rig

I like the 3.5" for size of my baitfish

had some of those hyper worms myself, but never gave them a fair chance and i think gave them away.

as for the magic shad, i have some of those as well and do like the action, but haven't really fished them enough to give much of a thought.  the only thing i would say is they seem to have a lot of thicker plastic material in them, but maybe that's just my take on it.

The jointed construction gives them great action which looks very natural to me.

The baby shad in either ball or boot tail is one of my go-to UL baits.

Well I will board the Live Magic Shad train too. That thing has a very nice action.  But I have used some of thier other baits.  I have used their creature in the past.  I used the babies a LONG while ago.  I have so many different baits that I never remember I have them.  But they do work well.  The baits all have a stong garlic scent that stays with them.  I have used the Bigger Creature too, but I really only threw that at night. The goofy boot tail kicking legs and the tail work well and put off quite a bit of movement that helped get me some bites at night.  I may get myself some more this year because this post helped me remember them, thanks. haha.

I have also used the Ring Fry.  I used the 4" model on a shakey head.  I was out catching my tournament partner 5-1.  It was awesome, not sure what it was about it.  I  had an older pack and a newer pack (different packaging) The green pumpkin color was different between the two.  The newer color was a bit more opaque.  It didnt work nearly as well as the first pack of worms, but it has caught fish.  Anyway, I do like the baits and I feel like Lake Fork Tackle makes some solid soft plastics and I would suggest to try them.  I have not tried any of the jointed ones except the Live Magic Shad. The others look like they would be torn apart pretty quick. but from the two others I have used, I would suggest them. Very strong scent, and I feel like the ribbed design on the two i used helps to create a realistic feeling
