I don't understand people in this world anymore. It's scary to know that there are absolute monsters walking around us... Some with kind faces but evil in their hearts. Continued prayers

Law enforcement officers are on duty 24/7 to help investigate crimes and reduce the possibility of illegal acts.

I wish he had pulled his weapon and fired first.

Surely hope he recovers and can go back on duty.

I could say something that is inapproiate on this site about these types of situations which get me extremely upset but I will not add to my post.

Please keep us abreast of his recovery.

Thoughts and prayers sent to him and his family.

Thoughts and prayers from Maine.

Thanks guys, Scott's wife and son need all the help they can get right now. From what little details I have, Scott was shot 13-14 times in the chest but was still able to call over his radio. Unfortunately, one of them heard that and came back and shot him a final time in the face before they fled the scene. Despite all that, he's a fighter and although he's critical, he's remaining stable. The next couple days are going to be very difficult but all of us that know him know that he's a positive guy and a fighter that's going to pull through.

I am amazed that he was shot THAT many times and still survived! I will definitely be praying for him and his wife!

That's an unfortunate realization that struck me early on in my career, there's monsters that walk this earth, and they look just like you and me. I stand face to face with them at work every day in hopes that nobody else has to.

I spoke with a friend that works at the same department with Scott tonight. Since he was off duty and headed home, he was not wearing his vest, so there was nothing protecting him from the shots. The robbers apparently came in, guns blazing so there was no time to return fire. On a positive note, those that have seen him say he's remaining stable and did well through surgery today and they're optimistic about his recovery. As of right now they have 2, possibly 3 suspects in custody.
