I have never used this line. I am thinking of getting some in 15lb and using it for my 1/8oz and heavier Texas-rigged plastic worms. How does this line cast on a baitcaster? How is the strength? Thanks!

Big Game has been around forever and is a good, inexpensive nylon line.  I've never broken 12 lb and above.  That said, it absorbs water, its diameter is not as uniform as many other lines, and it has quite a bit of stretch.  It will develop spool memory after a month or more of use on a baitcaster as will most nylon lines.  Bottom line, it's a decent line that is widely available, inexpensive, and it works OK on baitcasters.  Not much not to like about it.  There are better (and more costly) nylon lines around but it works OK and at the price, you can respool whenever you need from the 1/4lb spool.

Big Game is IMHO, is an excellent extremely affordable line. In fact, I just received a spool of 8# in the mail today.

Works fine. Isn't the best at anything, but it's decent at everything. If you backlash and don't feel like digging it out, the line is cheap enough that you'd be ok with just respooling.

15 lb is good stuff. I used to use it but switched back to braid.

Don't see too many mention this but I agree.  Seems like it has more stretch than XT even.

When I need a mono line, this is what I've used.  Used to use it all the time in saltwater.  Fished everything from 10-60lb.  Wasn't as soft as some, but not as durable as others.  Good all around line that served it's purpose.  And as mentioned, a 1/4lb spool, you can re-spool as needed without worry.

Almost certainly too much diameter for 1/8 weight and plastic. Knock it down to 10 or 12.

Good Mono. But it usually end up being backing for me lol.

I use braid with big game leader. I that stuff. Anything above 10lb big game wont fail. I had a bad experience with their 8lb line but i think it was a bad spool

Before I stopped using mono and it was a great line. After I fished a dirty pond i took the old line off. 

Lots of guys like it for leaders for toothy critters in 25-30lb test. I don't really like it because of the reasons listed above (absorption, stretch, and memory).

One suggestion that might save money (probably more so just time and frustration with frequent respools) would be considering a braid mainline and a flouro/co poly leader for the T-rigs. The braid will cast easier and give you better sensitivity and something like Hybrid is cheap leader material, incredible strong/abrasion resistant, and in 5-9 foot leaders can add some stretch/forgiveness to your line.

The real cost benefit to braid is that since it doesn't take damage from light and time on the spool the same way mono does, it can last much, much longer.

i use it in saltwater. Freshwater fishing i prefer trilene XL

I use 10-15 pound Big Game for most all my moving baits. It will work for T rigs but it's not my favorite. Always on sale for $7 for a 660 yard spool at Academy so it's impossible to beat the price though. 

I use it as leader for my Catfish rod. I wanted 30# but without my glasses I bought 50#. I'll be set for when I go to NC for some cat fun.

I use 12 and 15# big game for cranking and topwater/spinnerbait respectively. Haven't had any issues. Casts decent and no breaking issues whatsoever. Caught a few 12lb+ stripers and a 19lb flathead on the 12lb test. Left my worm rod at home one day and decided to tie on a texas rig on the rod with 15lb on it (7 ft mh fast action). It can work but the sensitivity really wasn't so great. I'm with Turkey sandwich on using braid. Although you sacrifice slack line sensitivity with braid, I get away with it by using hi-vis line and line watching. Right now I've got 20lb yellow powerpro on the worm rod. I use a 4' of the 12lb big game as a leader when t-rigging with braid.
