St. Croix Legend Xtreme 68MXF

Any Rod in medium power fast action will work great i perfer 7'. My reccomendation is a klx.

Knowing your price range would help.

I love my NRX 852. I throw shakey head, drop shot, senkos, Ned, split shot and its a great all purpose rod.

I found the perfect rod, for me, formthis application by going custom from DVT. Let him know what you want and you will get it exactly as you want.

I use a Powell Max 703 --  7' Med/Ex Fast

I use a 6' 10" M/F St. Croix LTB and it is by far the best shakyhead rod I've owned. However, for an all around spinning rod, the 6' 8" M/F "Wacky Style" LTB is the best all around spinning rod I've ever owned.

I just looked at the st croix website and had to do a double take. It's interesting they have the same rods two inches apart but labeled for different purposes. I have to wonder if it's a different blank or something.

I will say if the walleye series ever goes in the bargin room, I'm in trouble.

To me the 6' 10" feels more like an XF than a F and has noticeably more backbone than the 6' 8". Makes it a great shakyhead rod but not as good for an all around rod.

Just double checked and the 6' 10" IS an XF, so I guess that makes sense why it feels like one  :eyebrows:

They have a lot of rods on that chart, it's easy to miss one lol. I just noticed they have a 6'8 mf and 6'8mxf and 6'10mxf. Mind boggled.

I second the G Loomis NRX 852S JWR. Great all around spinning rod.

X3

I use a Fenwick EliteTech (older model) and it's awesome, 6'8MXF. I also have a GLoomis GL2 JWR that's good, not as good, but pretty good. TBH, anything that's around a 7' Medium is good, i'd shoot for lightness as a close second to most important trait next to sensitivity.

The best for me is a Dobyns dx743s, a little heavier action than some people like but for me it's great.

GLoomis SJR782 IMX

Phenix M1 7'2" M/XF is my do-it-all spinning rod.  If I could go back and buy my spinning rods all over again I'd buy one of those and pass on the half dozen Shimano rods I bought.

I have an nrx 852s. That 7'0 veritas M is more like most companies MH. That thing was stiff for me.
