Best Spinning Line

Featured Replies

What is the best type of line to spool a spinning reel up with? It would just be for some soft plastic applications

I use 6lb yo zuri hybrid perfect combo of limpand tough, great knot strength.all i need i use it on my spinning reels fresh and salt.

Try Gliss Monotex, been using 24lb. on my Pinnacle Performa 30 since Sept, no management issues, has faded a little, no break offs with improved clinch 2x thru eye with 8-10 wraps, like it better than PP cast 4-5 yds. futher (6'9"Kistler) than 15lb.PP on my President 6930 (6'6"Okuma)

10# braid with 7# leader. I use Power Pro braid and Sunline FC. Straight 7# Sunline FC is not bad by itself if you don't want to use braid.

15lb power pro with (hi vis yellow) or without (green) FC leader or 6-8lb sunline sniper FC

if you dont want to use FC, id recommend 6-8lb yo-zuri hybrid.

i might use 10lb FC if fishing 1/4oz jigs/t-rigs.

10-20 pound braid with a fluoro leader.

This is what I use also--fluoro leader of any length of your choice--find this to be best setup for spinning reels--no line twist and you can use a heavier poundage on your spinning reel by using braid--I use spinning outfits a whole lot more since I made the change to this setup

10-20 pound braid with a fluoro leader.

If you'd like to keep it simple... 6 or 8 pound Invizx.

I use up braid up to 20# and whatever fits the bill for a leader, mono or fluoro from 8# to 17#.

Another vote for 10-20# braid with a fluoro or copoly leader.

I agree with most people saying braid with leader. I use 10# braid for my drop shot and super finesse stuff and then 20# with my heavier soft plastics and jerkbaits. I also change up leaders with anywhere from 6# fluoro to 15# fluoro depending on what I'm fishing.
