So I've recently started fishing weightless worms a lot, so I'm learning to watch the line. Since this is something new to me, I'm using my old set-ups and all my lines are the moss green color. The waters in my area are pretty stained so the line and the water kinda match. I fish mostly braid with a leader on the end, but now I'm thinking of buying some high vis line for my weightless worm fishing. What would you (the more seasoned gents) recommend? As in what color and what type? Mono or fc? Thanks for the help!

Seeing as you mostly fish braid with a leader, why don't you try an orange or yellow braid? They're easy to watch and with a leader, there is little concern with spooking the fish.  As for fluoro, or mono; I find Yo Zuri Ultra Soft Hybrid fairly easy to pick up when fishing stained water.  I used Original Stren for years because it was easier to line watch than most monos.

I would say that any line that contrasts the water would be a big plus. You might consider sticking with the braid you're currently using as it's likely to loose it's color (most do) and become easier to see against the surface.

I have been using some hi vis Suffix that's in a fluorescent orange. Highly recommend, it's easy to see in all water and lighting conditions

Another one for power pro hi vis yellow.

High vis yellow - for me it's PP regular and SS8 

plus a leader.

That's the issue I have with yellow or chartreuse, hard for me to see when it's sunny and there's any ripple on the water. I can see white really well though.

 

Pink is still the easiest color for me to see but apparently fisherman have an aversion to using pink braid because it's really hard to find anymore. My wife has bright pink fireline on her rod, which really helps because I can tell her when she has a bite a lot of the time. 

Do like the yellow lines....use mostly PP.

I use pp yellow, but any of the hi vis lines will work for you.

( white , pink, orange).

Like most PowerPro hi-vis yellow on my spinning with FC leader.

Only braid I have that isn't green is Sufix Ghost (white).  It is on a spinning reel, so hasn't seen much use.  None in bright sunlight so I can't comment on its visibility under that condition.  Easy to see otherwise.  I do use Sufix Siege Neon Tangerine and haven't had a problem seeing it under any light conditions so far....which should include about any that would occur in this part of the country since it is on baitcast reels that get used a lot.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the help! Learned a few things.

I use white line for top water fishing because I think the sky looks white to creatures under the surface. So from below the fish don't see the white line as well, silhouetted against the sky, when the line is floating on or just below the surface; yet it's quite easy for the angler to see the white line from above, against the darker water.

 

However, I feel that the last few inches of line, the part just ahead of the lure, the part the fish sees perhaps from the side, ought to be less bright, so I darken those few inches with a Sharpie.

 

Does using white line for top water fishing, therefore, catch more fish?  I don't know. I am merely applying a hypothesis.

I use a hi-vis yellow Power Pro and Cabela's brand braid.

PowerPro braid 15lb in Hi-Vis yellow.   Since I am an avid leader guy thought it wouldn't hurt ... Absolutely love it!
