Lost my brother

Sorry to hear

Heartfelt thoughts and prayers to you and your family. It's a shame that that's the way things happened.

Sounds like you two were close.  Here's to good memories with your brother.

Tom you bring up an excellent point for us to be aware of.  That is, the criticality of being your own (or having someone be) an advocate for you as you get care from our (or any) system.

My best to you and your family Tom.

Sorry for your loss. It's sad that many folks on Medicare either can't or don't communicate their needs, concerns and medical history. Even more so when their health care provider doesn't take the time to locate the information.

On my smart phone I keep a short history, both personal and family, along with a list of Rx's and emergency contact information. I suggest everyone do this, not just us seniors. You never know what circumstances will find you alone and in need of medical attention.

Again tom, my condolences.

So sorry...prayers.

Tom sorry for your loss. I know the feeling of losing brothers. I lost one when he was only 43yo and another at 52yo. They were older than me. They were my best friends too. The pain never goes away. I can't wait to see them again.

godbless

I'm very sorry to hear that you've lost your brother. I know what that feels like. Time and support from those around you will take some of the sting out of it,mostly time...

Thank you for your warm wishes and prayers.

Having lost both parents and now both brothers, death and isn't new to me.

What is new and the reason for this post was how poor our health care system has become the past few years, it's all about costs and not care today.

I found out first hand 15 years ago how the insurance industry was changing. I had open heart surgery after a heart attack.Went in the hospital on Monday morning, and was sent home Friday morning. When I questioned this I was told it was because of insurance coverage stipulations. I'm sure it's gotten much worse since then.

Wow, sorry to hear about your brother and the tragic (and preventable) complications he experienced after surgery. That's just not the way things are supposed to happen, and I can only imagine the frustrations and heartbreak you must have experienced watching him go through all of that.

Very sorry for your loss Tom.

I hear of this type of thing happening much more than anyone would care to hear about.  It is a sad commentary on our current state of health care when you know how much the insurance companies dictate in the system.  Very unfortunate.

Sorry for your loss.
