This little guy jumped right into the bank trying to escape something today. Don't recognize it. Any ideas? Its back was a lot more purple in real life...

It looks like a tiny bass, but I've never seen that coloration before.

Looks like the Shiners we use here in the Ozarks/Midwest, but THAT much purple and those stripes down the fat part of the body make me think it's something else.  Definitely has the outline/physique of a bass, just very very tiny.

I don't think it's a striper, this was found in a 10 acre pond that's only a few years old.

Hold it close enough to the camera and you might get a Minn Kota hat. 

Largemouth. He looks that way because the water is cold and muddy (or at least stained from the looks of the photo). Time to find  what he was running from!

I have a 120 gallon cattle trough on the side of the house - I net these out of drainage ditches and stick them in the tank to grow up.  Great learning experience for my little girls.

That photo only kinda looks like the OP's original photo because its blurry. If you clear it up it looks nothing like the baby bass in the first pic.

Wow. Neat coloration. It's a bass. I believe it's a largemouth. Morpology checks out. It doesn't appear to be a spot. Definitely not a smallmouth.

I've never seen coloration like that -in a bass. Is this pond clear of aquatic vegetation? Any cover at all?

I think the shape of the fish and the color is close.  I have seen a lot of juvenile bass and never seen one colored anything like that.   I agree that it is most likely a LMB. I made a guess and thought the object was to have a good time with it, not to take the opportunity to insult someone else.  Anyway nothing lost either way.
