Best frog fishing rod

Featured Replies

Not looking to spend a whole lot of money. Looking for a good frog rod. If there's a rod where I could also use it for other baits besides a frog that would be best. Price limit is about $200. Also what are the best frogs and colors?

I liked my 7'6" veritas for frogs, but it also doubles as a jig/texas rig rod. I like the booyah pad crasher in bullfrog and cricket frog.

any good flipping stick will do great,I use either a vendetta,or a verities. love the SPRO frogs.

Academy h20 express ethos 7'6 for 59.99. Maybe not the best but it'll serve you well. It's really more of a heavy than a medium heavy. I really like the original scum frog. It's an older style bait and isn't as flashy as the new ones but it flat catches fish

Dobyns 735C Fury, Savvy, or Champ will work fine.

I use a Dobyns fury 704. I like the koppers live target frogs.

I use 3 rods for frog fishing.  Two are *** in a 7'3"MH and 7'6"MH.  The other is a Falcon Bucco 7'3"H which is my main frog set up and throw Snag Proof frogs 98% of the time.  Either Bobby's perfect frog or Ish's Phat Frog.

I have a Ethos 7' 3" H/F Micro that is the best frog rod I've ever owned. Found it on sale for $60.

Dobyns Champion 736c is my favorite frogging rod.

I like having that extra bit of backbone over the 735c. Now my two 735 are used for swim jigs by my dad and I. They excel at that.

I have the 7'3 H Kistler Magnesium Slop and Frog Micro.  It's by far the best I've used.  Super balanced, awesome soft tip that lets you skip under docks and overhanging trees with ease, and solid backbone.  Pair it with some 50 lb sunline fx2 and a spro bronzeye in killer gill.

I used to use a Dobyns 735, but it's just too fast. I think I'm going to switch over to a 705.

I like rods in the 7' range and i don't fish the heaviest slop in the world so i don't like the heaviest rods.  I've caught plenty of fish on a 7' MH/F rod and that same rod can be used for all sorts of different baits and techniques.

I like the Zodias 7'2" H. Throws swim jigs nicely as well.
