Color difference

Featured Replies

I was wondering if you all thought there was a difference between junebug and black/blue jigs performance wise. Also which do you prefer? Finally what trailers do you use on them?

Thanks!

Sounds like my kind of jig.

black and blue is certainly a classic color.   If it doesn't work then try junebug

Or make the whole thing sapphire blue. Sapphire blue with a solid black trailer is good too.

I've never done well with a junebug colored jig.

I use Junebug in combination with black, and I use it for 1 specific purpose, dirty water in sunny conditions. I have used black/blue jigs for a long time and a friend of mine was using black/purple one day and as we fished he said he wished he had Junebug in the skirt as the flash may help. Well that stuck in my head, I made some jigs up using regular black/purple and some with black/Junebug and there wasn't much difference until we used them on a day with dirty water and bright, sunny skies, it was the only color that worked and I've used it ever since.

I fish 5 or 6 colors...period. 2 are listed above. Junebug is a fav...something about the purple which is just slightly different than Black and Blue.

I make my black blue and junebug jigs an all in one. The heads start out black and end up with blue and green flake with the head having a purple tint to it. I put a tab of each black, black/blue, and junebug in the skirt. I can increase the black, blue, or junebug by simply varying the trailer colors. Hard to beat versatility!!

Geez man, I don´t know, the interesting thing is that I have soft plastics in a rainbow of colors however 90% of my jigs are plain black    ...

Never used a junebug jig, always a worm. So black and blue always. I just mix the trailer between sapphire, GP, and Black Blue
