Took my hero out in the Old Town this morning.  Today was the last day of fishing for this year on our favorite 'Paddle Only" lake.  Weather was nice for this last day of August, a mix of sun & clouds with a pleasant fish catching breeze..  Going on the First & Last day of the of the very short 10 week fishing season at this secluded little lake has been a tradition of ours for the past several years.

Making memories & Good Times and today a 6 pound bass,  Biggest we've ever caught here. We'll remember this one all winter.
Here's some video we managed to get - it's a little rough but captures the memory well.

Great fish!

Jeff

Beautiful fish. Not that it was ever not exciting to look forward to the opening of the lake next year, but I imagine it will be easy with that monster in your head all winter.

Congratulations on a great fish! Too bad your season is so short... Mine doesn't end until baits bounce off the ice, then I cut a hole!

That short 10 week season I mentined only applies to that particular lake.

My open water bass season is there for me whenever I what - as long as I can endure the conditions - Michigan Bass C & R is open all year now.

Can't argue with that Mantra ~

Big Green bass are hard to come by up here but Tanker Smallies, that's a whole different story.

As soon as the "Lets go up North" crowd heads south again and the Hunters vacate the lakes to infiltrate the woods, there could be one or two EPIC days ahead for this guy . . .

 Yea - I'm so ashamed ~

:sorry:

Really nice fish for up here.  On a side note, when my wife took a video of me landing a three pounder(which is the biggest she's ever seen) she was much less calm than yours and that video would have required extensive editing to be BR appropriate.  So at least you have a reliable cameraman.
