I am looking for the most durable and effective jig trailer. I used to like the rage craws but, they don't last long. What trailers do you use?

Original pork frogs are unbeatable when the bass want subdued action.  The z-man batwing-z works pretty good to when they want a little more action, however neither the pork or the batwing-z have as much action as the rage craw.  

I like the netbait paca chunk, bbug and kickin b. Plus they are pretty cheap so it doesn't hurt the wallet "as much".

#101, or #11 pork rinds, and the look-a-like zoom salty chunk jr.,...

For me it's a Paca craw for durability and fair action..  Rage craw for action and fair durability.

They should be out soon: Buddha baits -4" baby momma. Very durable, I've been catching 4-6 fish before its torn up. 

Hard to beat the action of a Rage Craw....If I had to pick one I would go with the Zoom Ultravibe Speed Craw which is a similar style bait, but a Twin Tail grub will give you essentially the same action. Most companies have a similar bait, but the rage baits are made softer on purpose which is why they work so good. Rage Craw is kind of a hard bait to replicate but all the above options are good.

Havoc pit boss, any havoc bait is cheap and good, same with a zoom chunk, craw etc...All the above are good, but hard to beat a 4-5" Twin Tail Grub? BPS xps grubs are good for the price, or the GYB grubs on Overstock on sale for $2.99-$3.99 a pack. GYB twin tail/spider grubs are awesome and for that price you get 20 a pack....Well worth it. Awesome colors especially for trailers, but Paca craws have a good flapping action.

 

For saving money, Z-Man Elaztach has the Batzwing trailers that will last an entire season if kept out of the sun, Palmetto bug, plus they float up which can be good. I don't like buying Z-Man stuff in the mail because sometimes they come melted but TW is pretty good since they move items fast. They wont have the action of the Rage baits however, good but different.

Simple answer. Easy on the eyes. For a smaller jig you can't beat a rage chunk. (Not because of the sponsors, but because of the results ) I've caught 5-7 bass on one chunk and it still continues to catch bass even if only one claw is left. 

Zoom UV Speed Craws seem both durable and catch-y.

I don't know what y'all be doing to Rage Tail craws or lobsters!

On a jig I catch 10-12 bass or more!

I catch 4-5 Texas rigging em!

Zoom super chunks or super chunk jr. is what I like to use.  Pretty durable too.

I attach as a trailer a 3" or 4" Berkley Powerbait Chigger Craw in Black Blue Fleck, Green Pumpkin, Pumpkin Green Flake, Watermelon and Watermelon Candy for Super Clear Water...

They're not the most durable but right now Overstock has Kinami Psycho Dads at 99 cents per pack.  Hard to beat a 20 cent trailer even if they only last a fish or two.

Zoom speed craws are a solid choice. I fish these mainly on smaller finesse jigs.

Yes the chicharonnes chips work like magic.  Make sure to get the spicy ones.

Used to be common to use trailers that were actually made of pork fatback with a little skin tagged off the end. Fished these all the time as a kid, though I see them a lot less nowadays.

I just started fishing a jig heavily this summer, and I've had really good success using the Berkley Chigger Craw, and Crazy Chigger as trailers. Unless you set when they've only got a claw in their mouth I average about 10+ fish per trailer.

While I have caught plenty of fish on both, am I the only one around here who really doesn't like flapping craws nearly as much as non flappers?
