Bait caster survey

Done.  However, I didn't understand the anti-backlash system questions.  I thought that was what brakes were for.  Also the DC reels from Shimano are said to do an excellent job of eliminating backlashes.  In that light I always buy casting reels with an anti-backlash system. .

I've got one of the Anti-Backlash reels that I bought several years ago for my wife before a fly-in trip to Canada. It works just fine, as long as you keep your thumb OFF the spool. The only problems I had using it was when I forgot and tried to thumb the spool, that caused a backlash.

Shakespeare now uses the same system that Abu Garcia used to use.

i picked to not have an anti-backlash reel cause i like to make long casts , i think an actual reel that made it impossible to not backlash would limit your cast , i guess i like to push it as far as my thumb will let me ...

If you want anti backlash systems, buy an sv spooled or magforce3d braking daiwa, or even better buy a t3 sv with both. Or buy a dc shimano. Or learn to use your thumb. In all seriousness though, good luck with your project
