I'd say confidence in a bait. Because if I don't have confidence in a lure I might as well not have it tied on.

I like the 7" culprit Fat max for a few reasons:

 

1. It is a little bit heftier than the original culprit, therefore casts further 

2. More durable than the original culprit (and other worms I have used)

3. I like the tail action 

4. Culprit is a local company near where I live, and I like to support local companies when I can (if they produce a good product)

I fish them all, Mann's and Culprit just happen to be my preference. I have no argument to say they are better other than I like them and the fish like them.

 

Worm fishing is like just about like any other style. If you don't know what your doing, like a poor presentation your success or lack of will reflect that. Have to fish where the fish are and in a manner the fish are interested enough to bite.

Zoom finesse worm, Zoom speed worm, or a Creme 6" worm. 

If I am fishing with a partner and need to catch a few bass my go to presentation is a slip shot rig with Roboworms, both 4 1/2" curl and 6" straight tail in oxblood red flake or smoke neon purple smoke ( Purple Thunder*). Big bass worm is Uptons Custom 9" straight dragon tail in Aaron's Trajic or black grape blue neon.

~ 7" ribbon-tail, brand isn't important, in red shad, tequila sunrise, black, green pumpkin, and junebug. Whatever is working on the day I'm fishing.

Mojo (Brass Pro-Jo) 1/8 oz weight, Glass bead, Carolina Keeper, Owner #5133 size 1/0, 6# mono main line no leader, weight about 24" up from the hook. Robo and Uptons worms float, mono line floats, the combo reduces snags.

Caught my PB on a 10 inch Mann's jelly worm.I was cleaning up my old worm box the other day and found a few from the late 70s early 80s.Went out and caught a small fish on one!

My grandfather gave me packs of those worms when I was really young.. and swore by them completely. Spring through fall the man was throwing a culprit ribbon tail. Deep or shallow, weeds or docks..it's not all he used.. but without a doubt his go to(this becoming mine) . I still have a pack each that he gave me. Unopened. I just buy more and when I'm fishing with them its like he's there fishin with me.Even though he's been gone for awhile now..

So, even though it's a centinmental choice... It's also effective and works for me year after year. They are well priced and durable. Awesome worm..

That and the hole size allows the line to slide through with minimal drag.

As for the Culprit's, my dad has a few packs dating back to the 80's as well. Along with some of those Jimmy Houston sponsored split tail spinnerbait trailers but I couldn't remember who makes em...

Thanks! I will probably be giving that one from your play book a good shot, it sounds like it would be something I could fish succesfully without having to acquire a bunch of extra expensive equipment.

I found a bunch of old green culprits . That was not a go- to color back then.Im going to try them.And these old Mann's worms - I found 25 or so,both the spear shaped tail and what we used to call screw tail.These are older than the culprits.Trying to decide if I should use them or save hem for nostalgia's sake.

Shaky Head I use Hags Tornado, weightless GY Senko wacky, TX Rig Power Worm, Drop Shot Roboworm or Hags Tornado

GAMBLER 7" inch curl tail.  

I like the Zoom magnum finesse worm. Black and Red Bug. 

Excluding Senkos and similar, it'd have to be the
Zoom Finesse and Zoom Trick worms.

Culprit. Day, or night it gets bit. 

Here's another vote for 7" Fat Max Culprit.  My favorite colors are crawdad and  fire and ice.  I also use the regular 7" Culprits.
