So went and got a new carrot stix for big worm a 7'6 H fast. Passed up a Duckett and a few others in the same price range. Got a deal on it in return give shop owner feed back on the "new and improved" rods. Fished first day for 45 min since it was getting dark no issues. Next day hooked up on a shallow 8.5 lbs large mouth running a strike King bleeding shad spinnerbait with white trailer. Checked knot and line for knicks casted out on retrieve heard a weird noise. Sounded like I reeled up a peg. Eye insert had popped out.  Anyone else have this issue? Is it common for carrot stix to do this. Next time bite the bullet buy a better rod  and tell the wife it was on sale.

Never tried Carrot Stix due to their poor reviews in the past. Why don't you return the rod and pick up a Dobyns Fury or something? Never really enjoyed any Ducketts either, the blank felt heavy and dull to me, especially on those ghosts...

Not to say that Carrot Stix doesn't have issues, but I have one and have had zero issues.  I bought a Wild Black with micro guides about 3-4 years ago and have been using it since.  I probably won't buy another one simply due to the fact that I prefer my Loomis.

That alone would steer me away.  I get a defective rod, I'm not paying $50 for a replacement.

at our local spring fishing show they were selling these at huge discounts, everyone was walking around with them. not sure if that's good or bad but they were selling them cheap.

"better" is a very relative term.   I'm pretty sure that you could say that the rods are "better" than before and not be lying.  I have 2 of the Wild Black rods that are several years old.   I'm pretty sure that they have lasted this long because I'm not that hard on my gear and I haven't fished them very often.   Given all the prior bad press, I'm unlikely to buy another one no matter how much "better" they are than previous versions.

This issues has come up for years. I have said the same thing over and over. Very sensitive rods. They break. However, their warranty for a replacement is expensive but you can add another rod, or upgrade for relatively cheap. Each year my father or I break one. So we get two rods. Warranty isn't the cheapest, takes forever, and poor customer service but we have a rod locker jammed so we don't mind all that much. We are probably up to 10 rods from the 1 that first bought him a few years ago. 

So, help me out here - you have a bunch of broken rods you paid $50/ea, and one you paid retail? I don't understand, seems like a lose-lose deal.

They had a good run it's over now they were coveted among many anglers at one time. Including myself, That time has come to a sad ending.

So carrot stix got back to me well I got an email saying item shipped. So it's 1lbs and will take a week to get here. I'll keep you guys posted. I overnighted a Loomis and I know I'm getting what I paid for. 

The original Carrot Stix was launched with rave reviews about the new super fiber, but it never made the grade.

Then there was a 2nd Carrot Stix rollout, but it too lacked escape velocity, so this would be the '3rd' Carrot Stix!

I don't  know I always had a series one then a G.Loomis as a kid, I wouldn't recommend the carrot stix but I glued eyelet and have fished it. I landed a 8.5 largemouth then a few days later a 6.56 smallie no issue. 

I havent used them, but a friend of mine has, and I havent heard of any issues (from him).

Well, I have owned 3 carrotstix rods broke one and they have me a free replacement so that's a sign of good customer service. The other 2 have performed  good. My only problem is with there guides they are all slightly misaligned or crooked. It's not that big of a deal because even my st. Croix has one or two that are slightly misaligned. The carrotstix look slightly worse and they are more frequent. For that I probably wont buy another there worth a try if you can find one that's 25% off
