3/0 offset hook with bullet weight

Featured Replies

I had a buddy show me his texas rig setup. His hook had the bullet weight made onto the hook!

Anyone know what this is called? Link?

Look up Owner Ultrahead Bullet Rig. Is that what you're looking for? Kind of a jighead attached to the hook.

Nope. It literally looks like a bullet weight mated to a hook.

Never have to worry about pegging

I have seen something like that at bass pro. Can't remember the name. But it is considered a jig head, looks more bullet weight though. I would say check out bps site and see if you can find something either under hooks, or jigs heads

I'm wondering if eyelet still grabs stuff

Wondering how worm/craw/brush hog runs with it.

Probably pay a premium for this style hook. I would prefer to peg my weight, because if I wanted to unpeg it, it would be easy instead of having to cut that hook off and switch back to a regular t-rig.

Just my personal preference though.

These have never appealed to me

Whenever a sinker & hook are unitized you've got a 'jighead', but there are countless designs.

I don't care for the Jobee design for a couple reasons. The bond between the sinker & hook

is easily broken then the sinker will rotate on the hook shank (that's not too kool).

Also, the hook is too long and springy.

Jobee jighead is what I think you are looking for.

The Jobee jighead is very weedless, BUT

that long, spongy hook isn't conducive to solid hooksets.

Charlie Brewer's Slider Head is far superior (the wide-gap version),

but since it rides with the jighead cocked upward, it's not as weedless as the Jobee.

Did you look at Owners Ultra Bullet rig hook that was suggested? Premium hook with improved weedless shape bullet molded onto the off set hook...

That's the one I was thinking when I mentioned BPS. I think they have a BPS house brand that looks just like that. One reason I never got them is like RoLo mentioned above, the hook looks springy.

I'll take a better look.

Yea, I have a few of those and the hook is really soft feeling.  I only really use them with something super thin like a trick worm.  Likely will not buy more once they are gone.

Slider heads though, never had an issue with them.

That's a 1/0, though. I don't think it comes in a 3/0.

Here ya go :)

This is the Upper Potomac panic rig for the summer. If you can't catch fish on this using a black power worm like the one above then take up golf.

Depends on the jighead and what type of fishing you do. Jobee has different size and thickness of hooks they use for this head. I use the 2/0 hook ones all the time with creature baits on 10-20lb floro with no problems.
